There are no rules on modifying airsoft guns in Canada? I smell this is not right.. I thought airsoft guns sold in Canada, the body must be translucent?

Once you get AVed an entirely new world opens up... I have a full metal rifle, as do many others.

As far as I can find, G&P does not make a stock "C8 Carbine" they made a body and the trades on it are incorrect for a Canadian weapon

Canadian style magazines ... we don't have Canadian style magazines, we use the standard NATO magazines, unidentifiable from the ones that are used by American forces or anyone else who uses the M16 or it's variants.

If you mean those shitacular Thermold things......... they're the most horrid peice of shit I've ever been told to put in a weapon and are no longer in the system, though they tend to pop up from time to time for no reason other than to piss off a soldier who gets stuck with it. Colt Canada, and Diemaco when they were still Diemaco, likes to use them in their photos though

Wrong, look further into the law.

Obviously I'm new and need some info here and there. So maybe I can get something that later on I can modify it into C7A2, and get familiarized with airsoft first?

Not trying to give you hassle, we jsut can't go too much into certain things outside of verified areas, it's an attempt to prevent people under 18 getting these items as they do silly things and aren't legally to have these toys.

It's just the rules. But yes, black guns ARE allowed

AFAIK to have a M16 convert to a C7....

C7A1 ->
Diemaco BackUp IronSight (BUIS)
Diemaco TRI-AD or CADEX Tri-Rail
Elcan C79A2

C7A2 ->
Four position carbine buffer tube with old generation Colt carbine stock (OD Green)
OD Green A2 pistol grip
OD Green A2 handguard
Ambi-Selector
Ambi-mag release
Extended Ambi-Charging handle
Diemaco BackUp IronSight (BUIS)
Diemaco TRI-AD or CADEX Tri-Rail
Elcan C79A2

C7A2 is harder to replicate completely, C7A1 might be the way to go.

Also don't limit yourself to AEG,
GBBR like WE M16A3 can be converted just as easily.

I don't remember there being a TRIAD on the C7A1, at least on the reserve level.

As for C7A2's, I have seen some that did not have the extended ambi-cocking handle, black furniture and even the mag release... it probably depends on the armourer who worked on the old stock rifles but yeah I have seen these rifles and they still engrave the A2 with it.

By regulation, they should, the Weapons Technician doesn't decide what he does and does not put on a rifle, he does as regulation dictates. If it doesn't have those parts, then it's not actually a C7A2

I dont know man... from the stock of those that were issued to my platoon that one time... they were pretty inconsistent with what was on them and they were still called A2s and had A2 markings on the reciever. I dont really care for the ambi-features since even though I am a south paw, it doesnt bother me that much anyway... the damn charging handle does get stuck to things though!

I've seen quite a few A2's without the ambi cocking lever, they break quite easily and sometimes the only replacement parts avail are old stock. I actually have my own A1 style handle complete that I drop in on exercises as I can't stand the A2 style.

once you are aged verified I suggest going into classified and look trough them and see what you can find there. It really worth your time looking out there.

C7A2 as far as I know don't need that ambi cocking lever to be qualified A2. They just need those green parts and the ambi catch, and ambi selctor (can miss a few little detail it's been a while since I touch a C7 due to me not being a combat trade, support trade FTW ! )
