Don't Buy These Mesh Goggles

I've actually had the paint on the inside of my old mesh goggles flake into my eye when it got hit with a bb. I no longer use mesh.

Went with the ESS Striker, only fogged once. But it was pouring rain all day, it was hot, and even the mesh guys couldn't see.

I have the same model (XT) and I installed a small 3/4 inch 12v computer fan on top. ((Run it on 9v, plenty air flow and less noise))

The XT is the same frame as the real ESS fan job so the hole is ready to be punched

Total cost (including fan, 9v battery, wires, switch and 9v connector 12$

Just remove the screen foam and remember to wrap the battery in cardboard before tapping or battery replacement is a pain (Guess why I know)
and make sure your fan setup doesnt become a BB entry point!
This setup will actually DEFOG not only prevent fog so you don't even have to run it most of th time

Talking about safe goggles, heres a link to what might be some pretty darn safe (paintball) goggles. Heres the link: Procaps said their Grill lenses are bullet proof. I tested their claim. - PbNation

I'm not 100% sure if it's real though, it seems a little too fantastic.

ESS makes a low profile google with a built in fan, you can use iron sights - $60 and well worth it

I still can't believe people still use mesh goggles.

Personnaly I use ESS ICE goggles with the head band that holds the goggles in case I fell or something.

I've had a bit of fog with them as they touch my skin near my eyebrows, but I've got two pairs.

or you can use fogtech the proper way and get zero fog never ever, even under the rain.

Yep. Never had any issues with my old ESS Lands Op, and the new V12 are amazing.

It's a private field. The field in Penticton, BC, requires fully sealed goggles.

i have played there many times running two different types of mesh goggles and both are fully sealed and neither have any issues of penetration or fragmentation. the penticton concern(i suspect at least) is the same concern i have with players wanting to run shop/shooting glasses with nothing securing them to the head. i have 3 fields, 2 on crown land and one on private land and on the private field the owner wants sealed goggles(doesnt require paintball, but ballistic rated ones).

curently i run the bugz woodchipping rated goggles that is shop rated based on the wire count you choose. that said i chose the highest wire per size count and they use stainless steel instead of other weaker metals. there are a large number of poor quality of mesh goggles/mask, i just did some research and found two sets that time has proven to be very workable and safe for myself and a few other of our players.

i do also have bolle x800(with a fan) and a set of paintball goggles for fields that do not allow mesh goggles as well though.

The guy above is where I got the idea. On Saturday I saw that his are different than mine. I trust my Arena goggles and have been hit in the eye area several times while wearing them. They are bulky, however.

Anyone know what goggles these are? I'm sure there are replicas, but I would rather have the real thing.

Maybe change the thread title to the actual product name, as I'm sure this review doesn't apply to every single "Mesh goggle" made..

Certainly doesn't apply to my pair of Bitter Ends.
