You can save yourself a lot of trouble if you just get AV'ed. There are vendors in the AV who could get you a black MEU, all metal ones too. If you are 18, just get in touch with one of the BC verifiers.

@ dokternik, listen to the other members about getting AV'ed. It will save you the trouble and money by buying a full metal black MEU from the classified, rather than getting a tan one, stripping it and then then painting it. And about your first question about stripping the paint, the metal will oxidize for sure and it will turn different shades of black. You'll need to seal the metal right away to keep the look you want.

Getting age verified tomorrow at the Edmonton airsoft shop!

So the retailers(once age verified) have access to full metal WE 1911's?

Once AV'ed, a whole new world will open up for you. There's a few full metal MEU for sale by members and from some retailers. If you can't find what you're looking for, get in touch with a retailer and see if they will bring in any or can do a custom order for you.

As to your intentions to buy a WE 1911, I'd highly advise against it. WE pistols are low quality to start with and their 1911 model is especially bad. They have a high tendency to rip themselves to pieces, literally. If you're looking for a full metal 1911 at a decent price I would recommend KJW.
+1 to all of that.

Thank you to those who told me to get on the age verification. WAY more worth then settling on guns from other sites... Anyone who is thinking of getting verified (18 + ) , DO IT.
