Just a word of advice, JBU barrels are to be known as terrible, if your going to get a tightbore, get Prometheus, Madbull, Systema, KM, or Laylax, just not JBU. Heard they were terrible, seem em before too, not as impressive as a Prommy barrel.

Man, I think you're good. I have had my JG from Velocity for about 2 years plus and I have had no issues. Clones are great if you get the pick of the litter.

To make something clear i did not buy a new gun i decided to upgrade my existing gun. alright just to tell off the people who think Cheap guns suck, on the contrary after putting in $200 worth of upgrades in my kraken this thing can practically hit a penny at 100 feet. so all in all i spent a total of $300to get were i am and still gonna get the wood kit and the works for the body.
Upgrades:
Promethius (soft) packing
Shreders Cocave Spacer
Prometheus 6.03mm barrel (not the ash) aircraft alluminum
Prometheus air seal nozzle
Prometheus Shim set
Mask Pro Cylinder head with 6mm oversized cushion
Modify polycarbonate piston head with enhanced O-ring
Modify High Speed polycarbonate piston with 7 steel teeth and 2nd tooth removed
Modify S100 non linear spring
Modify Rotary Spring Guide With Bearing
Metal 6mm bushings

So ya i practically own a automatic sniper rifle.

... But then it's not a Kraken at heart anymore. You've pretty much replaced every part in it.

That's just like saying because I upgraded my Corolla with performance parts and an engine swap it's now a Supra.

It's good for you that you upgraded the Kraken though, a lot of people do use them as bases for project guns or a "3D instruction manual".

lol kraken $100
+ $200 internal upgrades

+ metal body $100
+ decent wood kit $50

so for $450 you got a decent gun, good job

i can attest to this. though, if you spend some time sourcing, re gut your kraken for 50$ gotta love element gear kits. imo metal bodies and wood kits, can wait for a better gun.. my kraken is a gun that i am not afraid to take out in shit conditions (rain and mud).

I totally support the Kraken in this respect. When one is looking for a platform to learn AK work on and wants to upgrade a gun over time, this is the way to go. Many Krakens will work fine out of the box / clamshell and provide reasonable performance stock. Also, many break on the first few shots. It's a luck of the draw. Hence why I can't recommend them for a noob without some technical abilities.

But as an upgrade platform, it's a worthy gun to work on. With some work and upgrades, for a total cost of about $500, you can have a full metal / wood AK with reliable internals and power and accuracy that will easily surpass any stock plastic TM. And it includes all the little parts and screws that you need for an AK project that you can't find anywhere else, which is an extra bonus.

i could not agree more! when i opened my first kraken mechbox... it was like someone shat Vaseline everywhere.. except where it was needed! the piston head had no lube to speak of where as the switch assembly ozzed the stuff

Good job on upgrading your Kraken. You now know basically how AEGs work, and how to upgrade them. Get age verified and get something real nice to play with and upgrade, and have access to more skirmishes, scenarios, parts, equipment and support. There is no good reason not to get verified. You get access to lot of cool stuff by just showing one person that you are 18. Unless your not 18, in which case you shouldn't be playing Airsoft in the first place.
