PS: Eeyore, you can easily get 11 J from a paintball gun. Typical paintball weight (for .68) is around 3 grams and running at 280 or 300 will yield 11-12 Joules of impact energy but a lot of it is dispersed via the paintball exploding and "cancelling out" the momentum (ie. just like if you dropped an egg in a cardboard box with bubble wrap in it the bubble wrap would get popped and therefore the egg would be saved).

Yup, firearms laws and a lot of other laws in Canada aren't based in logic, so trying to applying logic to them is...well....illogical.

Don't feel cheated, Everyone always says airsoft guns are too expensive.
And I'm gonna go against the grain here and say I LIKE paying Canadian retail price for AEGs. Yep. I love spending 600+ for awesome guns. That's just the way I roll |

The energy dispersion from a paintball popping can be reduced by replacing the paintballs with marbles or freezing them. I remember talking to game organizers and hearing them talk about the psychos who'd do this in large community games where people can't check their paint efficiently...Not to mention paintball guns, all running off gas, are incredibly easy to tweak to fire hot. A search in the forums see a lot of threads on ECA, actually. Can you guys sticky a disclaimer in the newbie tank? Would save a lot of veterans' blood pressures. Finally: no strelok, I don't want your help in breaking the law. I want information on how the laws in our country work, and I want to buy nice guns for cheap. I don't see how that's a problem. Also, congratulations ThunderCactus on your disposable income. |

Cool, I kind of want to go to Coventry to see the Godiva statue (I think that's about it for there...). I might do it sometime next month. I'm in Kent right now on an exchange.
I might be in Reading (don't make the same mistake I did, it's pronounced "Red-ding") sometime for a game too but with no ride (and no guns) I'm not sure if I can do it, I'll need rentals and all that....

:O
I joined the real-steel rifle club for target shooting and forgot to search for airsoft! Holy crap, thanks man. The Godiva statue is underwhelming. You can also check out the cathedral tower that survived getting bombed by the Germans, as well as "the slope the little boy is climbing in old Hovis bread ads". Yeah, it's not a tourist town. |

Also at my old fields (indoor speedball) we always ran at 300fps. But I don't play anymore and this was a few years ago so they might have changed. edit: Wow, totaly missed the second page and L473ncy's very good info, sorry :| Quote:
