Yeah... but if they're making a film, why not just use blanks like usual?
Blank firing guns are probably cheaper. |

No kidding. These would be fantastic for small budget films

If its big budget it would not be an issue. Hire a movie armorer and voila.. problem solved. But airsoft allows cheaper budget tv shows or movies to have props when they need them without having to invest additional funds into long term insurance and staff. Stargate series comes to mind. |

Well hopefully it will take shell casings of .223 or 5.56(doubtful youll find em in Canada)
Blanks are not remotely cheap, the ammo aint free. |

That'd be neat and fairly inexpensive if you could use old casings.

Doubtful you can make it cheaper than used shell casings. Those will run you probably <5 cent per shell....can you beat that? And its stamped brass not cnc making bloody expensive or crappy cast metal

I wish GBBR manufacturers would start storing gas in the stocks of guns, rather than mags. That could open the door to shell ejecting GBBRs and GBBRs that are compatible with standard mags. |

Wranglers here also just use real-steel, most use modified barrels so the action can continue to cycle. Real steel is generally better because they can always get parts and they NEED their stuff to work. For handgun, one of the guys I've worked with told me that the wranglers here charge $10/round. Airsoft (GBBs) are generally more than enough, it's easy to add the muzzle flash, ejecting cartridges ... who says you need to film a close up? Buying blank guns/replica firearms you'll need a BFL to acquire unless you get those Zoraki Non-Guns, but that just takes you back to requiring a permit to discharge etc. plus those are front-firing I believe? Hence the risk, unless you picked it up from the States where the barrels are plugged and the gas vents from the top you'll need to exercise caution. Keep in mind everybody these are developed in Japan where acquiring a gun is according to a friend of mine said, "happens once in a blue moon" lol |

looking at this gun it seems as though the entire bolt assembly moves back, not just a faux cover.
the fact it can take both regular m4 mags and the specialty ones is quite interesting. well i want one. |

We then its gonna be useless for us because of our capacity limits. Don't think you can get around it in airsoft mag. If its compatabile with firearm, it would be considered a firearm magazine.

Well I wish it was like the old Marui ones back in 80s where there's a port for bbs and another port for the shell.

Thread resurection time. A friend (indie film maker) asked me about the TOP M4A1 shell ejection AEG. I hadn't seen it before. I see where you can get it in the States but is there a Canadian distributer who carries it, or can get it)?
