Hey Malcom, glad you've got an interest. There appear to be a lot of people who enjoy this type of themed event... the goal is to find them, and motivate them to truly embrace the theme and their character. If we create the event, hope to see you sign up as one of our test subjects!

Absolutely ! I've done some paintball and as silly as it may seem some larping both focused on post-apocalyptic themes so this is definitely right up my alley.

I'd be up for an event like that. Spent countless hours playing Fallout series, Stalker and Wasteland. Don't have souped up Fallout style suit or Mad Max impression but can do half decent Stalker style outfit.

Malcom,
What materials do you use for your props? That's more than awesome.

Hey guys, sounds like we're starting to form a core group of people who have an interest here. What I'd like to do is create an edited first post with a list of people who have expressed interest. Don't worry, it by no means is an actual game sign up list, it is merely for me to manage my failing memory.

Slight departure from the Post Apocalyptic theme, I 'customize' suits of 'near futuristic' armour for soldiers. I work with Sid Garrand from Nightmare Armor Studios in Atlanta Georgia. I'm his PR guy and web designer in return he builds me armor, which I then trick out to look believable. Lots of airsoft widgets, custom paint, lighting, weathering, battle damage and some added EVA foam parts when needed.
This weekend I just finished detailing a Long Shot Nerf gun for one suit I am working on. Our group 'The Filthy Apes' (A cosplay group) create an impression each year. This year we are the fictitious near-future military group ROAR (Royal Orbital Armour Regiment) and I've gotta say, our armor looks spectacular. You can catch us at FanExpo and we're lining up a few other events to attend. I attached some pics of the nerf gun.

Bigload: So far all the commissions I have done have been with nerf guns. I hand painted it using modelling paints and a hard coat spray and added some red hockey tape for the grips. I am really looking forward to getting my hands on some airsoft guns and working my magic on em.Pictured below what the commission looked like originally .

A group of talented people here. I gotta say I have near zero experience with creating gear and weapons. I am playing around with paint and a wasteland load out. Is FanExpo happening during March Break?

Yeah Elegy's fun. I was at the October game last year and might hit up a game or two this year. There was some talk among the players about doing an airsoft version, at least as a test. I’m of the opinion that cross-pollination can’t hurt.
One thing I want to mention is that last year I was really looking forward to a couple game that got shelved, one called ‘Last Call’ and another ‘Long Winter’. They were post-apocalyptic... but without the costuming. In both cases they would have been small teams of 4-6 with limited starting ammo and resource-gathering objectives. Role play comes from having to choose on the fly how to deal with other groups. Like: “We have 12 bottles of water, that group has 20 MRE’s, we’re outnumbered but I have a sniper in a solid position. There’s gunfire in the distance. We need to finish this negotiation quick because everyone’s twitchy.” You might want to consider something like that as a ‘gateway drug’ before going full Max Max.
