Thanks guys! Sadly no replica version that I can find so guess I'm sticking to the KAC rails for the 2nd upper.

And the project begins!

So I managed to find a G&P C8A1 recently. I realize this version does not have accurate trades but it's a beginning. So was a little excited when I got it home and just had to throw on some furniture and accessories.

SO... I think I found the right RS RIS to mimic the IUR in Vickers' photos. YHM 5004a 9.2" Free Float RIS seems to be fairly close in look to the IUR's rail section.

Only unfortunate thing is that it doesn't produce a full monolithic rail along the top but my Specter DR would sit over the gap and attach to the rail on both the upper and the forearm. Not 100% sold on this one yet though. I may still just opt for a DYTAC SMR Mk4 or Mk5 for now.

Anyone know of any ITAR issues with bringing RS Free Float RIS into Canada? I can't seem to confirm one way or another.

ITAR will regulate parts leaving the USA. If that's where you're getting it from you'll need to find an exporter who will tick all the boxes.

So a couple articles & videos about CSOR training with the Jamaican Defence Force appeared in the Ottawa Citizen a few days ago. This one specifically about Canada dontaing some SOF equipment to the JDF. Here's the article but also the accompanying image that shows a similar C8 IUR on the display table, this time sporting an MFT Minimalist Stock!

Another article and video showing some CSOR operators with JDF personnel while sporting similar C8's.

Shot Show Sig Range Day – CANSOF Rifle

Based on the 7.62mm SIG 716 platform, this rifle was built to answer a Canadian special operations forces requirement for a battle rifle.

According to SIG’s Kevin Brittingham, The thing that really stuck out about this requirement was the accuracy spec. They required 1 MOA at 300m suppressed. SIG was able to exceed this back with a quick detach suppressor on a rifle fired by Robby Johnson in front of CANSOF evaluators.
