Seized by what authority? because maybe the transfer was illegal?

You do know that it is legal for someone with a BFL to temporarily transfer a replica for up to one year.. and with agreement for an additional year? To anyone who has a legitimate need for one?

so possession is legal.. and in some cases transfer could be legal.. and the police have no evidence of the conditions of the transfer... under what basis could they seize your legally possesed and possibly legally transfered replica?

Sorry but for all of you who say "not to worry, another retailer will come along"...the vast majority of ppl on the boards now are pretty new, only a year or two. I've been on these boards since 2003, and i remember the days when there were at least 5 retailers in Canada. One by one they have been shut down for one reason or another, but there was always one or two left over, including ASCA. And i hate to break it to you, but i'll put it simply...there are no more retailers in Canada. A&A and 007 were the last two legit business, and now they are gone as of March. So unless someone wants to get an import license and start up another retailer there won't be any more guns comming into the country, sure there might be a few guys who can do it privately but i'm pretty sure they know its illegal and they are running the risk of being busted. To me this is the beginning of the end...i'm not going to stop playing and i hope that something can be worked out to solve this problem.

But lets put it this way, if the gov't was to state that importing and building cars in Canada was illegal, then after a while we would be all riding horses again. Cut off the supply and something slowly dies...this sport can only last so long on second hand guns.

As far as i can see the only way around this is for people to start building from scratch...and there we have a problem importing bodies...

Take what you will and label me one of those guys who claims "the sky is falling" but take a good hard look at whats going on and the stance of gov't regarding our sport....Can you honestly say that this will be fine? Are you pinning all your hopes on some airsoft christ figure who will save you all?

Make the most of the time we have and enjoy it...

not without evidence... The ACT is illegal.. without evidence that an illegal act happened.. in the form of eye witness testimony.. video evidence, voice recordings.. proof of some kind conviction is unlikely.. the burden of proof rests with the prosecution.

I could literally say.. I traveled to an alternate universe where its legal to transfer these things... and then came back.. prove otherwise

well that is left wide open to interpritation under the law.. it is not defined save loosely.. a good litigator would not have much trouble with that.

Donster, just refer back to what I said earlier, its all gona be ok in the end.
This one single action is not going to kill airsoft in Canada.

Well nobody fucking break your guns because we're gonna have to make the ones we've got last, we're gonna be like cubans are with cars. In 2050 when the rest of the world has like laser airsoft guns that are nuclear powered with holographic sights, we'll still be using repaired tokyo maruis.

no but demographics. a lot of the people in my area are older than me. im talking 20-30's some even in their 40's. they are not going to be around for THAT much longer. so if no new blood comes in, im left all by myself. thats the point im trying to make. people like me are the sport. we are at the age now where we can buy our guns and play for a long time. but if no new people are able to come in, while the number of guns will not dry up, the number of players will. and what is the use of having airsoft if you can't play with anyone. that was my point.

EDIT: thanks for the reassurances T7. i really do appreciate it

I don't think so...

Upgrade/repair parts are cheap and freely importable....so short of someone snapping their lower receivers, etc, in pieces, we should be fine, even IF there are no more importers.

Its true, I have been there and seen it as well, it is a strange place where the pineapples natural form is similar to that of a watermelon where it lays on its side.
