Ok so I actually took apart the damn thing today but I didn't disassemble the mechbox because I just didn't feel like working on 2 mechboxes in the same day.

Clear air nozzle cheap plastic
Weird black plastic bushings are terriable
Shimmed wayyyyyy tight and the axels of the gears seems poorly cut
Random grease everywhere

Good news:

you get to have fun learning how to upgrade this thing....

Hey I am having a problem with STAR mags. They work fine but the wobble is incredible. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Front and back or side to side?

Either way, a bit of tape wrapped around the top of the mag helps it fit snuggly. Plus with the mag in you won't even see the tape.

I will try it, but for the record the wobbling is from side to side.

Oh because mine did front and back and I ended up reinforcing the metal block with electrical tape

tape the top end of the mag.. Had the exact same problem, And I found that electric tape you have to double up to get a snug fit, but eventually bunches up and is a pain in the ass.. So I found success with good ol' black hockey stick tape. Hasn't gave me a problem since!

Just bought one for sh**ts and giggles

Took it out of the plastic, loaded the mag hooked up my 10.8v battery and let it rip. It hauls ass, way faster than my upgraded TM AK, seems to shoot straight and hits fairly hard.

It sounds quiet, no grinding, and very smooth operation with a higher voltage battery. If I blow it up, oh well. Buy another for $150.

I am going to run this stock until I break it just to see how long it lasts. I suspect the motor will die before it has any other problems due to the bigger and higher voltage battery.

Hey MD,
Where did you buy it anyway? Did you get it ordered through BassPro?

Cheers,
Alex

Bass Pro, they had it on the wall in the hunting /paintball section. $154.00. I got the last one on display, not sure if they have more or not?

Thanks for the tip bud. Looks like I'm getting a second AK soon. And I JUST sold off my Kraken upgrade kit that would have been perfect for it.

Well, I'm an idiot.

Cheers,
Alex
