WE Gold 1911

Hello there, I just need some opinions on this gun. I really like the looks about this gun..however I care about performance also. What is your guy's opinion on this gun? I read some threads about WE mags always leak and the gun tend to be less durable than most of other brands. Would you prefer a KWA ATP over this gun? Thank you.

WE's been making efforts to improve their pistols with the Glocks and more recent guns... but the older guns were absolute pieces of crap.

I owned a Socom Gear Novak, which is gun OEM'd by WE. Its not a bad little work horse. Good kick and decent accuracy out of the box. For the price point they are still alright for plinking around and mess around with.

Granted, you do have to give their 1911s lots of lube to ensure reliability.

According to the Taiwanese website armscoolnet.com, their recent guns still have the problem to have broken parts only after some brief usage. Their pot metal is still of very poor quality, the recent SIG 552, Glock have many reports of cracks in their outer barrels. The paint job is well below standard, paints will fall off very quickly right out of the box.

They are cheap and have great variety, tempting but more trouble than enjoyment for most of the time.

That's a good point to make considering your asking about a gun that is mostly bragging cosmetic rather than function.

WE 1911 series and hi capa series sucks dick however Socom gear is different even tho OEM by WE its been modified, my friend got a kill with a silenced socom gear m9 about 80 feet away double tap which was insane for me to watch since it was a Socom Gear

but yeah stick to the newer WE or get TM stuff they are better

I have a SOCOM gear WE pistol, the WE 1911 that I use as a skirmish pistol.

It's accurate, has a great mechanical feel, trigger pull etc. The finish is completely mauled & doesn't look great but for the price vs. function it's a great deal.

I'd be cautious about the gold one. If that starts coming off it'll look awful.
