Help with G&G GR15 Gearbox

Trying to put in a new spring have gearbox out of the rifle.
This version has a pneumatic piston that gives the gun that bolt action through the ejector door. Have a really hard time figuring out how to get it off of the gear box casing. It's attached to the top edge of the frame holding the two halves of the gearbox together.

Does anyone have any experience with it. Found great videos on you tube, but none that shows this same sleeve over top. On the manual it's called the pneumatic blowback piston

its simple, everything slides back.

You will need to use a LOT of force or gentle tap with a hammer/screwdriver

Thanks Flack, I'm on the right track, but once I take that e clip off, I can slide the cover back, but then it only goes back so far. Is there any thing else I am missing there. Such a little piece seems so complicated to remove

the cover you are talking about is the silver/aluminium fake bolt or the cylinder black sleeve?

the cylinder black sleeve slides all the way back, but not completely off. and once the sleeve is as far back as it will go,the fake bolt will not come all the way off, it stops right at the end like something is blocking it, so I must be missing some little detail where it is catching.

Also once the fake bolt is off, does anything else need to come off?

oh yeah, there is a little metal strip that you need to remove by pulling it back if you want to be able to slide the sleeve. It's a metal strip that hold the top of the mechbox together juste over the "#1" in the picture. The strip is already removed in the pic!

once the little metal strip is off, and the sleeve is moved back should the fake bolt just slide off?

1. Remove top strap (the little strip)
2. Remove the e-clip on the end of the piston rod
3. Slide/wiggle the fake bolt back and "pry" the sides out of the small black top cylinder. It just "unhooks" from the little channels that it runs back and forth in...there's little tabs that hold it in. Go easy, requires more wiggling than force. "prying" is too strong really.

When you get that stuff off...the black top piston comes off (slides back). These are often stiff.

There'll be a (used to be lime green...don't know the colour now) rubber seal under that top piston. That seal matches up with a hole in the main cylinder.

Note the orientation/position of that seal...it will go in upside down/backwards...but it doesn't seal properly if you do that. If it pops out before you get a good look at it, there should be two indented radii to it....the smaller radius matches up with the top piston, the larger with the main piston.

Once all the top crap is off...the rest of it is just like a regular V2 mechbox

Assemble in reverse...pay attention to getting that seal to sit just right.
