Reinforced Gearbox

My buddy bought a MP5 off here which the previous owner put a 500FPS spring in (it was a tokyo marui) and it broke the stock gearbox (kinda expected tbh). What gearbox do you guys recommend we put inside the gun? Been waiting for a Modify one to come into Airsoftparts, but I doubt they'll be gettin it anytime soon.

Why 500fps? that's just dumb in an mp5.

Don't ask me, the previous owner put it in lol. Probably will downgrade it to about 400FPS-ish.

400 isn't that stupid. Nor is 500fps stupid in every AEG. Theirs sniper platforms that can use it well. Don't assume everyone plays with the same FPS limits as you.

OK, lets keep this on track, I'm lookin to see what people's views on certain reinforced gearboxes are.

KA or Systema mechbox case, ARS sorbo piston head and cylinder head.

FWIW, I've been waiting on the Modify TORUS gearbox for going on 6 months so I can finish my DMR (470 fps). I had considered buying the T6061 Aluminum box Juggles sells, but I'm willing to wait for the Modify.

You may as well get a silent head set or sorbos for V2 mechboxes. As for reinforced shells, there's not really all THAT much in it, most of the extra metal goes around the gears area. If you really want it to be long lasting, for MP5s so far that CNC 6065 aluminium shell is the only way, the AJAX STS is suppose to work well, but it's so far only for M16/M4s.
