Removing orange plastic tip from Umarex USA Heckler & Koch USP CO2 Airsoft pistol?
Hello everyone.
I just purchased a Umarex USA Heckler & Koch USP CO2 Airsoft pistol. The build quality, accuracy and overall feel/weight is very good. I'm loving the gun so far but this orange tip is really annoying me. Has anyone had success in removing the orange plastic tip from this gun? I tried twisting it off gently with a pair of pliers but it won't budge in either direction. I then tried submerging the tip in boiling water but it still won't budge. I can't see any screws so it's either glued on or threaded really tight. Here's a picture of the gun: Thanks, Zak |

That's a BB gun, not an airsoft.
It shoots metal BBs, not plastic. I'd keep trying with a pair of pliers or nail polish remover may work as well.

That's a full plastic NBB, right? IIRC, it's about the same as the Crosman one, and the orange tip is way too glued...
Remove the slide, remove the outer barrel, then saw it off. You won't be able to remove it otherwise.

Think that comes in both airsoft and and 4.5mm steel bb form.
What kinda plastick is the orange stuff made of? might be able to paint it.. |

Soak the orange tip in acetone(nail polish remover)

It is glued in seriously. I would second the recommendation to cut it off - that is also because if you do remove it (and you can if you are CAREFUL with solvents but I would not recommend it) then you have negative thread showing in the front (the inside of the outer barrel.) Cutting it off and painting the inside black where the orange is left makes the barrel look better inside.

You could use a threaded steel bushing, such as is used on a brake line, glue it over the tip with JB weld, and it will appear to be threaded for a silencer, like a MK23.
Just a thought |
