Looking to make the most powerful (and possibly ONLY) TM 3.8 Hi-Cappa
as the title states, i will be building yet another short barrel pistol, this time, a custom Tokyo Marui 3.8 Hi-Cappa.
with EXTENSIVE assistance from this forum's own ILLusion (aka Brian) i plan to have this build moving along soon. so far, he has sent me a list of items, of which i specified my intentions with them. here is that list.... basically, brian (ILLusion) will be taking in all my input, my desires for the build, and my expectations as far as weight and FPS, and assembling a parts list. from there, he will send me the parts and I will build the gun. the 3.8 slide will be made of STEEL while the receiver will be made of aluminum. I want a steel receiver but I cant justify the cost. this is gonna be a 1500 dollar project, even with me TRYING to not make it expensive. but, it will be sick!! I was thinking of a gunmetal (titanium look) slide, on a silver (aluminum) receiver with a black grip setup. sorta a "3-tone" job. should look sick. add a polished outer barrel, and we have a winner IMO. I was also thinking of having the receiver anodized red, just to be sure that I can track it all over the world should I ever sell it. that is a far off thought, I will build the gun and enjoy it well before doing anything like that. here is a list of fun stuff brian sent me, and I added my input on each item and sent it to him, so this is what my build will look like........[/b] Frame: OEM Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 Slide: Steel & aluminum price quote request. If you get a chance to anodize, anodize the barrel gold.

I'm fond of Firefly hop-up rubbers... but only because I want amazing range for gaming purposes.... I think Nineball has one and they claim to raise FPS.. which might be something you're looking for.

Well this time I would have advised you to just go from the KJW KP-05 CO2, hand cannon.
And I don't know if that's true but I would guess an upgraded co2 pistol would go further than a propane one, am I wrong? However maybe the configuration you want there would be more powerful and more precise, I don't know. Quote:
It would need a nice 18K gold plating before addind the red

lol, i dunno which wai i am gonna go with the aluminum, but i will make it look dope.
i am working VERY closely with brian (ILLusion) to make sure i have a pimp little hand cannon. we are aiming for FPS, not long distance range as i dont skirmish. i just plink at cans and like to build etc. |

A 3.8? That would lead to a shorter inner barrel, a bit longer like a 4.3 would give you more FPS. 5.1? Even more. Parts are already out for 4.3 and 5.1. Why go for a 3.8?

3.8 with a regular size grip would look kinda funny....the WA 3.9s have shorter grip and mag(officer sized grip and frame vs commander/fullsize).
TM's problem is the lack of mags. WA pretty much made all there is to make on 1911/2011 platform to make a custom project work... This is a 3.9 double stack: Last edited by RacingManiac; January 25th, 2010 at 14:03.. |

No, it will not. However it will reduce cycling speed, which is awesome for plinking. If you put it one shock buffer (as oppsoed to 2 or more) your slide should still lock back reliably.
And Hitman, my newest project is going to have a gold anodized barrel, I'll send you pics. |

Shock buffers reduce impact (saves your slide), reduces recoil, and gives you faster cycling speed.

Why do you always want to make "the most powerful" out of the shortest models you can? Wouldn't it make more sense to use a longer base gun?

the nineball does increase FPS by improving the air seal. I put one in my mk23 and it zings now. I do want to try the firefly rubber sometime.

I'm curious, do you have a rundown of all the parts that are getting put in to this project? I noticed your initial list had some vague things like "who makes the best?". It would be interesting to know what parts are used for my own reference when wondering what combo makes "the most powerful" gun lol.
