What are the differences between the two Mp5s?
I was just on 007airsoft and i decided to look at their G&G mp5 combos.
http://www.007airsoft.com/products/htm/aeg-gg-hk.htm i was just wondering what the are differences between the two combos ? yes i know they are listed there but could someone expand on it for me? i was looking at G&G mp5s on different online sites and the top part (top reciever i believe) is not transparent like the one on 007. Is there a reason why it is transparent? Also, are there any parts i should order to upgrade some obivous flaws in the gun? and any other addition information i should know |

One has the blowback function. The other does not.
It is transparent because that is legal to import into Canada without a permit, whereas the black ones are not. Don't upgrade it right away. Game it, see how you like it. Then go from there.

so which is better? blow back or no blowback? Blowback just means it moves when i shoot right? I was also looking at the table on the right and it shows non blowback version has higher FPS....

It may or it may not. E-mail 007 to find out if those muzzle velocities are accurate. I don't own either, so I cannot say.
Which is better? You tell ME. Do you want some curious blowback function that doesn't do much, makes your mechbox proprietary, and some parts proprietary, and can potentially fail, but have it look marginally cooler than a normal AEG. Or do you just want a nice bread and butter AEG that shoots and doesn't do that. I would recommend without the blowback, simply because it makes too many parts proprietary, and harder to replace or upgrade, and makes one more system that can potentially fail.

MP5 upper I believe is what carries the "serial" number and therefore is the part that is prohibited from importation. Whereas with an AR-15 platform the serial is on the lower and therefore lowers are prohibited from importation.
I believe the same goes for the UMP which has a clear upper since that's what carries the serial on it's real steel counterpart.
