Getting shot in the face sucks

I was wondering if getting a couple in the face was some sort of initiation thing? Or is it common practice to wear paintball style masks?

All I know is that I'm glad I was drunk and it was just some shitty plastic canadian tire gun and not my kraken

Face shots happen. No one aims for the face, but it happens. If you're not willing to take the hits, then wear face protection.

I don't think getting shot in the face while drunk is part of the deal,,,

I've been shot in the face and head and it leaves stingers like mosquito bites, no big deal. Hand shots are the ones I like the least.

Knuckle shots and finger shots... OUCH. Those hurt like a mofo. But that's why I wear gloves with armour protection on the fingers and knuckes.

Yeah, I took a burst to the face a couple of months ago, landing 2 on the upper lip. That stung like nuts.

Its happened a few times where the newbies take an m203 bb round to the back. not that its an initiation thing... they just seem to keep volunteering for it.

that being said, it sucks to get hit in the face, but it happens. your choice to wear face protection or not.

Right on

I'm wearing them as a badge of honour today

And also using it as an argument that airsoft is more manly than paintball

Lips are my weakness, I can handle almost any other shot but lip shots are so painful for me. At the same time, its part of the game and its not very often that I get hit there so I won't be wearing a mask anytime soon

Hand shots hurt like a bitch, one time i was at a CQB game at TTAC3 and i forgot my gloves, and it seemed like 80% of the hits i took were on my hands, it hurt like a motherfucker, and i got nailed in the temple by a M14, that hurt too

Nobody said you had to wear a giant paintball mask. There are many other options like balaclavas, neoprene masks, small airsoft plastic masks with ventilation, etc.

Of the dozen or so games that I've played so far, I've only been shot in the lip once, so it's not too bad. I take a LOT of hand hits for some reason. That's why I have the Manzella SWAT-20 gloves. I've yet to see a pair of gloves that offer better hand protection...

Yeah I can't see myself wearing a mask, but gloves are definitely something I can see myself going for

One other question. Is anyone aware of a good place in calgary to buy airsoft shit? I bought my kraken at the bass pro place on a whim and now I'm starting to learn more about the sport and getting a couple friends involved and I want to expand/improve my arsenal

join JOC.. the local airsoft club in calgary
ask questions there... you might get "better" answers (meaning local players would know about local locations for airsoft equipment as opposed to players located in Toronto, or Vancouver)
