ICS M4 Hopup - Alternatives, etc...

I've been searching around for an ICS M4 Hopup to complete a repair that's on the bench...but without much luck.

I came across some posts on other forums from a while back and it lead back here too...to this older thread (which is stickied even...). ICS M4 Bible

So...can anyone add information to replacing the stock hopup unit (which in this specific case is broken) with a solid one piece metal hopup (front altered as per described by this article and THIS ONE (it has pics for those who are more visual oriented).

Specifically, I'm researching if there are any lingering issues with feeding, air seal, etc... post hopup-swap.

I might sacrifice a spare hopup unit just for interest sake...unless I find a stock ICS one asap.

Thanks,

Tys

Yes, it is. you need to molding it to shape like that then it should fit smoothly.

By the way, ICS M4 hop up is not hard to find. There are a few retailer in the state carry those and also they are ICS distribution. You should be able to find one. Check out blazingtoy, you should find one.

ICS guns can only take the same ICS parts as far as I know. My hopup doesnt look like the one pictured however.

you lazy-ass mofobeezatch!
I told you where to get a
brand new one.

Alex took out his stock hop
right after buying his ICS new.
Put a metal KA or Systema
in with a little dremmel grind.
Might not be perfect but his
air seal is decent, 340fps
from a 350 spring.

any updates on this, I may need a hop unit replacement and would like to know if the alternative (modding systema hop) works effectively.
