Is the G3 series out or on the way out?

Hey guys

I bought an MC51 about a year ago as a project gun as something to tinker around with and modify because I wanted to do something a bit different, but I didn't think it would be as much of a challenge finding parts for it as it has been.

In my search for parts and add ons (rail sleeves, metal parts, barrels etc.), I've more often than not run into "Out of stock" and "No longer carry that item" on web pages.

I've been out of airsoft for a while and recently came back to it so I don't know all of what's hot and what's not, but because of the above, have the G3series airsoft guns gone or started to go the way of the dinosaur?

If so, is it because some other guns are more popular because of their coolness factor and companies are focusing on those guns, or just a general disinterest from the airsoft community in the G3 series?

What do you guys think?

I love the G3 series, and i have every intention of getting mine back in some way or form.

But, it is a more unique series, so like the Sig 5xx series, for example, parts are hard to come by but not impossible. Best to PM someone who is in the parts loop to arrange for a special order. I know if you PM Jugglez, apparently he can work magic at finding non-restricted parts that may not be on another website.
