KSC G18c to G17 Conversion?

Is it possible to convert a KSC G18c into a G17?

yes well maybe but it's more work then I would want to do.They use the same frame you need to change the FULL hammer assembly in the frame + the slide and everything in the slide. and after that if may or may not work.

Sounds like I'd have to practically buy a G17 anyway just to make it work. Screw it, I'll just buy a G17.

I'm partial to Glock sidearms after having mine for so long.

It's possible, but you'll need to change a significant number of the hammer/disconnect/sear mechanism as well as the entire blowback unit as well as slide.

Finding all of those parts is pretty difficult, unless you can find a junker G17 somewhere (although it's generally those parts in particular that break prematurely.)

You're better off just buying a new one.

I'd actually recommend the Marui Glock 17...

It is possible, no doubt about it. Im a KSC Distributor. I can get you parts directly from the factory in japan.

The main differences, are the slide, hammer assembly, selector assembly, etc. There are some others as well but i cant remember off the top of my head. Gimme a PM if your serious about this.

Cheers,
DarkAngel

What would happen if you simply slap on a G17 slide, remove the fire selector and just loctite the gear to semi?

Guessing the slide doesn't have the same interior geography though, 'cause it would be too easy!

I'd say that by the time you sank the money into the internals, a new slide, etc, you'd be in for almost the same price as a Glock 17. In your case, I would just buy a KSC G17 so that you can still use any existing mags that you have. Would be cheaper, and less chance of anything going wrong. And then you also have 2 pistols instead!

Won't work - the G18C and G17 have different hammer/sear assemblies (both located in the lower receiver.)

Yea, if you look at the 18c hammer assembly, it has 2 movable "arms" which is directly related to the method the hammer is fired. if you look at the 17, it still has both "arms" but they are actually one peice instead of being seperated in half. Hard to explain, ull know what im talking about when you see it. Also the hammer is different shape.

I havent done the math yet, but it may be cheaper to replace internals, that and seeing how since legros isnt back from his vacation, not many people have them in canada. But im sure the parts will be less than 250-300$, which is how much i think legros was selling em for, tho i could be wrong as i havent seen his prices in months.
