depends on where do you play a lot? CQB or woodland? if you play CQB a lot pick g36c to have a better maneuver... both have the same upgrade capabilities as they share similar internal parts except for G36K has longer inner barrel which will give a slight boost on velocity... CMIIW

to shoot further range is depend on how good the compression (no air leakage), good hopup unit and length of the barrel... i have g36c mods into 400fps with a madbull tight barrel standard length but it shoot quite far comparable to my friend's AK with longer barrel... so if you want to upgrade them make sure your gunsmith understand well about the air compression..

G36 K
I have just purshased a jing gong G36 K for my bundeswher and swedish special forces loadouts, I currently own a custom MG 36 which i had been using, but found this to be fine in the woodland, but just to long in CQB enviroments. I prefer the G36 K over the c model due to the fact that you have the ability to mount ag 36 grenade launcher, and the full length RIS unit as used by the KSK. Also in my opinian it just looks better as well. I like the flexibility of this weapon for adding accesseries and find them to be very reliable. I even rate the j.g. model over my t.m. one in terms of build qaulity and the power out the box was nuts at 430 fps, needless to say it needed downgrading before i could use it.
