Dropping ROF

Hi guys,I am now buying a 9.6 Batt. for my M16.I like the
ROF I have on the 8.4.I am thinking of use torque up gears
to bring my ROF down because of the higher voltage.Would
you guys think just the torque up or super torque gears will
bring me back close to stock?.Are these gears almost straight
drop in and shim?.

Thanks

Super torque up if systema, double torque up if prometheus, yes they are straight drop in and shim.
If you buy infinity torque up gears, you need a half tooth piston.

And why not just drop your battery down to 8.4v?

I thought that using a higher volt with slower gears would be easier on my aeg,No?.

You should have stayed stock gears 8.4v. You're going to get the same performance (ROF) as spending the money on the 9.6v and torque gears to slow it down.

Depending on your make/model the best thing for an AEG is to keep it stock and to follow the recommended battery and components.

Well my sp110 is eating up my Battery in the cold weather.
It is a 8.4v2300MAH,I'm lucky to get three mags out of it.
During the sumer when I was testing it,runs great in the
hot weather.

Having a 9.6 and torque up gears will just make your motor run faster, which isn't always a good thing.
Just buy an 8.4v 4200mah battery, and use super torque up gears. Going from a 2300mah to 4200mah battery will increase your ROF quite a bit, so you'll still need the super torque up gears to slow it down, but with the larger capacity it will last much longer. Not to mention the torque up gears reduce the strain on the motor and reduce the amount of power it drains.

Could you run that past me again on the Mah.You say the higher MaH
will make my ROF go up?.I thought it was the volts that did that.

So a Super torque up is what I should use here.

Guarder SP110 spring
Guarder bearing spring guide
Systema shims and bushings
Guarder reinforced tappet plate
Systema silent cylinder set (bearing piston head and better sealing cylinder head)
Gaurder air nozzle

If you go 8.4"nicad" instead of 8.4 NIMH battery it'll also last longer..the only thing with a nicad battery is you'll have to hook it to a discharger b4 charging...Also The higher mah will increase the ROF but not that much..Increasing voltage kicks the ROF up significally..Suggest a 8.4 nicad and buy a discharger..Will probably be the same if not cheaper and save ya some grief of a tear down

Both voltage and current will increase rof. Going from an 8.4V 1500 mAh battery in my HK416 to an 8.4 2500 mAh increased my rof by 4 bb/s (from 12 to 16). A 9.6V 2000 mAh battery in that gun gives me 19 bbs / second. In my RS Type 56, my 8.4V 1500 mAh battery gives me 12 bb/s. My 9.6V 2000 mAh increases that to 19 also.

The difference between a 4200mah battery and 3000mah battery was close to 200rpm for me, that's pretty significant. And the 8.4 3000 gives very close to the same ROF as a 7.2v 4200, within 60rpm as I recall.
Of course results may differ slightly on your gun.
