Kraken to AK74M
Alright, got one gun out of the way (Classic army m24)
Now its on to another. I just baught a Kraken AK to gut and play around with. So, Why not turn that plastic peice of junk into something pleasant to hold and shoot? Last op I was at, Operation Deathnote. I was a photographer, and ended up getting a loaner CA SLR105 to help the guys out with. I loved the thing, I loved the weight and feel of it all, and i've been wanting to buy one for quite some time now. But now, Marks not Selling, I havent been able to get age verified (And wont be for another year) The Kraken AK is my only choice for now. So, its on its way, which gives me time to gather up some cash to get some upgrades for the thing, (Basically all the shit listed on Amos's "So you baught a kraken" Thread.) But my main concern for the moment is the externals. I've looked around and found airsoftparts.ca has some of the things I need, The flashhider, Stamped upper receiver, Metal sight/front assembly and the internals I need to replace. Now i'm just trying to find the Ak74 style bakelite grip, AKM style furnature and a metal body. Help would be much appreciated! This is the look i'm aiming for : Thanks! ________ Kitchen Measures Last edited by Strelok; April 11th, 2011 at 11:39.. |

ebaybanned for the pistol grip, rsov for the metal body.
If you were age verified you would have access to the retailers on the boards, they would be able to bring you in an SLR 105. |

Well id personally suggest an ICS AK74M over an SLR105 if you are looking for looks as well as bolt. The ICS AK74M has a metal bolt that feels like the real thing when you pull back, while the CA SLR105 has something similar to the TM AK47. Also ICS is the Russian AK74, while the CA SLR105 is the Bulgarian version of the Russian AK74.
But onto the topic at hand converting the rifle into an ak74 will 99% require you to get age verified. For everything except the metal body just speak to Jugglez on the forum. He runs airsoftparts.ca. He does preorders from kingarms (who stock a lot of ak47/74 parts) and he gives you a very good price. Last edited by Relja; March 28th, 2008 at 17:50.. |

An AK-47 is possibly the worst place to start building an AK-74 from. I learn that when I built my AKM. All that's left of my TM AK is the stock tang pretty much.
