Is it possible?
Hey, I was just wondering if anyone heard anything about or tried making a shorter trigger pull on an ak? I've been thinkin about ways that might work and was thinkin that making the contact point longer so its closer to the part that the trigger pushes. So far thats all I've come up w/ but haven't tried it yet. Any other ideas or do you think my way would work? Thanks

Getting longer fingers could work.
On the other hand, remember that trigger not only engages the electrical contacts, but also the semiauto latch if the fire selector is in appropriate position. |

I think you misunderstand what he's asking. Trigger pull is the distance the trigger travels from the moment you touch it, unit it engages the switch inside, completing the circuit and firing the gun.
Jono, I've an idea in mind and will try it on the SAWII. I'll let you know if it would work for you.

Simple solution, Drill and tap the trigger, and adjust it closer to the point where to switches make contact with a set screw...

where exactly on the trigger do you suggest I drill and tap on an ak trigger system. Do you know how the ak trigger works? Also it has to be able to come all the way back because of the semiauto latch (I believe thats why)

Inside your mechbox, where your trigger pins in place, you can use a piece of plastic ( I used a piece from a milk jug lid). Install it towards the rear of your trigger underneath where you trigger sits on the shell. This will shorten your pull w/o extensive surgery. You can also adjust your length of pull easily and check it before reassembling your box. I've done this on my ca33e's and it works quite well. Special note, make sure yor safety will still operate, as your trigger contacts will be closer now. This technique was used on v2 mechboxes, I havn't tried it on my v3's yet, Good luck.
