SIG making airsoft???

Found this at the SIG website:

http://www.sigarms.com/Products/Show...?categoryid=51

Do you think SIG has started making airsoft guns? They would probably rock if they did, given their reputation with real steel. The only other thought is that they are simply the Marui products being advertised by SIG. But the pistols claim to have metal slides, which the Marui don't. Anyone know anything more about this?

The pistol says "Made in Taiwan" on the frame....so I doubt Sig is making it on their own. And for the Sig 552, it has the Marui sticker on the stock!!!

If Sig did make their own 552, I would so get one as a collector piece.

I guess the AEG could be Marui and the pistols KJW, althouhg the markings on the P226 are different from my KJW P226, and I have the one with trades.

I think they're just showcasing sig replicas. Check the SVIguns.com site. They're showcasing WA's replicas of their pieces. I don't think sig would waste time making airsoft, and if they did... it'd be outsourced to some shit company.

KJ makes the p226 and p229, infact im almost certain that those are the same, because of the way the trades are. nice try!

Looks like someone got smart in a lawsuit and decided to team up rather than litigate.

I have always said airsoft is a great force on force (GBBs in particular) training medium. The absence of full recoil is not a big enough negative to just ignore it as such.

They're advocating re-using BBs.

He said "recycle" not reuse...perhaps he meant recycle the plastic?

Coupled with live fire training, you can't beat it.. there are lots of police and Military taking a long look at airsoft for force on force. Simuniton has done a good marketing job but with the cost of receiver kits and the cost of the ammo..balanced against what the same money will buy in airsoft... well the math speaks for itself. The fact that SIG is jumping on board promoting Airsoft guns as trainers for their arms is telling..

For close combat training airsoft are excellent simulators... outside of 15 m the simulation falls apart pretty quickly.

But even for field training the force on force benefits are valuable despite the limitations of 6mm bbs.
