Deal Gone Bad With Gamer123
Hey everybody.
On 02-15-2006 me and 2 other people on this site got scammed on a King Arms AK47 wood kit shown here: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...light=wood+kit I sent the money through paypal, confirmed the payment with the seller and soon after recieved a PM that said " Ok, will ship it ASAP". I posted "SOLD" in the thread the wood kit was posted in. I got a PM from a member on this forum asking which item I had purchased. I told him it was the wood kit. He Said that he had just bought the same item and was also sent a PM saying it would be sent ASAP. I PM'd gamer123 multiple times, no reply. Another person on the forums got scammed from the same member, gamer123 but it was for a holster. We filed a complaint with paypal and they responded soon after saying that they could not refund our money because all of the money had been taken out of his account. This is when i started to get really P'd off. What I am wondering is if anyone here has been scammed by this guy and if anyone has any info on this guy. (Name, Address ect) There is someone on these forums that has the info but will not release it. Thanks in advance. LaZeDoUt^

It shows in his ratings that someone sold something to him. Maybe if you contact MadMax he can tell you some more information about the guy.
Also, did you notice in his profile he is only 17. Hopefully he is not being a punk and this can be resolved, if not, I am sure there are many ways you can track him down. |

Mad Max told him that he can't give the info out saying: "but I'm pretty sure it violates privacy laws if I hand it out when I have no direct attachment to a transaction gone wrong."
This isn't an attack on Mad Max here, nor is it questioning him, so nobody please think that.

Yes there was, it was due to privacy laws and the such.

So if when the rules can't be enforced once they're broken, what's the point in rules at all?

Okay fine that's a little blunt and simplified, yet one still must wonder how interactions like these should be handled. Things could quickly go wrong if personal info was easy to get.
On the other hand? Where's LaZeDoUt's money? Jeez -Cheese

Haha, there are no laws against giving someones contact info to someone else, as long as it is a private thing and not posting it in the forums or somthin for everyone to see. Companies sell people's info all the time for marketing and advertising purposes.
He should have just released the info to you as soon as you requested it and this whole thing would have remained private IMHO. |

The purchase was probably through Airsoft Innovations, which probably has a privacy policy.

The deal gone bad was a private sale, and didn't involve Mad Max or his business at all. The reference to him was merely that he had dealt with this person before, and has the needed info. We are looking for anyone else who may have been ripped off by Gamer or who may have info on him. We know for a fact that there is more than 1 person who has been slighted by this clown, but we are respecting them and waiting to see if they want to reveal themselves publicly. We have spoken to them. I suspect that this account is one of several this person may have.

Not sure if this applies to airsoft, but usually when trades go bad on forums. I'd recommend people to report to the Mods, and http://trollhunters.com/, at least that's the case with computer-related forums. You can give it a try.
(For future purposes) As much as ASC is a small community, when trading online, always look for references, in this case, he used his ebay as reference (since he has only 1 trade rating on ASC), so I would email that ebay account to confirm it's his. Also, just to make things easier, I would also recommend asking a phone number and call him to confirm, etc. And not to bash you, LaZeDoUt^, but why would you ask him to ship something when he lives like 10 minutes away from you living in Markham. If anyone preferred paypal over cash, I would feel a lil iffy and pick up the item physically and pay him on the spot with a laptop. But the GOOD thing is, if he is in Markham, I would ask the Mods for help for an IP, and report this to the police. The police would likely be more involved if it's a local deal since it requires less effort. Best of luck with it. But definitely report to the mod to see if they can provide information on the matter, and also file a report to the police. We certainly don't need dishonest traders in this community. EDIT: His ebay account is still active, so I really doubt that's really Gamers' ebay ID. |

I am the one who has a problem with gamer123 regarding the holster. Originally I had hoped he would do a local deal with me but he said he was too busy and away from the city so I made an exception to that. I had even requested a phone number from him but got no reply. We all hav filed paypal claims against him, his name is apparently Jackie Ng and he sells on eBay ...but anyhow ... he has no available funds in his account as he is a Paypal verified so I'm guessing all funds were transferred to his bank account. I was wondering if an admin could get an IP fix on him to see where he may be from? Since he is only 17 I would like to speak with his parents specifically about this.
