G&P AK Metal Front Receiver

Does anyone have any experience with these? I purchased mine a long time ago, pretty much when no other alternatives were available.

The problem is, basically upon my first disassembly, the upper hand guard tube/piece fractured right off. Ended up having to fix it using epoxy mixed with fiberglass fabric/weave.

It might be because the fitting that slides onto it is extremely snug, and caused extra stress. Will have to file it down.

If anyone has this specific receiver (Not sure if aluminum or pot metal), has it broke on you?

what you need is a new sight block and gas block cause that thing should have been held in via lever

I'm not quite sure I understand. Could you be a little more specific?

My original plastic front receiver did not have the tube attached to it, but instead was a metal rod that was clamped or screwed into it.

My Ak is tm spec, and currently has the G&P metal body, as well as the op piece which came with the wood hand guards, grip. and stock

Decided to look at some front receivers, and noticed that the ICS ak's have the "lever" style gas tube removal on which the hand guard sits. But, as far as I know, ICS does their own thing and this would be incompatible without some modifications.

My main concern in the op is about the quality and durability of the G&P cast. Is it an aluminum alloy, or some other pot metal alloy? I mean looking at the tube from the top it is pretty warped going outwards, and I am surprised it broke as fast as it did.
