Major upgrades to Raider L HELP!

hey team

I finally went to my first game and saw how my raider performed. I was getting out shot from distance and most my shots werent as accurate. so what I want is to be shooting at least 400 fps. accurate to at least 150 feet? (reasonable for a combat machine?) the shots per second doesn't really matter as I've come to the conclusion that I'm going semi only. I want an overall more snappy gun.

I've done some research in the forums and have come to a conclusion of things that I need.

I'm no expert so please all the input and advice I will take. I'm 100% sure of doing all my upgrades so any advice on that or very accurate videos would be appreciated. yes yes Google is my best friend but input will be taken.

so here's the list I've come up with so far.

hop up unit
battery upgrade to lipo (using 9.6v nihm atm) (most needed? or can I run without one?)

I do want to get rid of my front triangle sight. so what outer barrel do you guys recommend. I want it the same length and be able to add a tracer/suppressor.
also is there a way to install a disengage button for the spring?

Depends how much you want to spend on that gun. I'd say an inner and a nice hop set up, your choice will be based on you skill level and how hard you want to work. A flat or bridge hop (prometheus nub and whatever rubber, the prometheus one is good the modify is good or you can modify any other rubber you like to be smooth and work with a flat/bridge set up) or go with an rhop.
As for trigger response there are easy and hard ways. Just slapping in a decent lipo is easy, going 11.1 lipo would be suggested to get a simple mosfet to save yer trigger contacts. You could also do a motor. Any decent neo motor will crank the he'll out of an m110 or 120 (400fps ish depending on how good airseal and volume matched etc..)

Merf 3.2 or some other super fancy mosfet that I haven't researched yet as I'm happy with the Merf stuff for now.

The last setup will put you over 30rps it's how I build my guns for trigger response to keep noise down and give less reaction time to the target at longer ranges. However the first set up will give you an increase in rps/trigger response and will give you a good stable hop unit and you can then decide okay I need faster or I can even use a smaller lipo etc.. and all that crap is easy to swap between guns, even the barrel group in you stay in the AR family with yer next gun. (speaking of if the stock hop unit is real flimsy in the arm then get a new one, lots of good options for replacements, the lonex one has nice fit n finish.

Having just finished doing the type of upgrades you are suggesting, I just thought to add that a m120 spring is totally not necessary. If you get a tight bore, m4 style cylinder+ cylinder head with a new piston and piston head, and a nozzle, your compression will increase a fair bit. I bought a 110 spring and was shooting 430ish. I put in a m100 and it toned it down to 395-398 consistently. I may still just throw in an m90 to avoid being called out for mid game chrony's. My point is- by going this route, you can use a much less powerful spring, which greatly reduces the wear and tear on your internals since they will not need to work as hard to cycle it, increasing the longevity of your build. As far as hop ups are concerned... Get a pro win, flat hop it- and you will be shooting way more consistently.

Really depends on the brand of spring. Technically the number rating should be meters per second. So an m120 should be around 395fps. But different companies are different. http://www.airsoftsociety.com/forums...g-guide-68713/

shooting at least 400fps? are you playing on public fields? the MAX is 400 fps.

you should be aiming for about 380-390 since some chronos read higher and readings can change seeming depending on weather conditions.

I have the exact same gun as you. I went a little overboard on mine but whatever. To each his own.

Upgrades that i did for trigger response were:
Shs high torque motor
11.1 lipo
Gate Mosfet
Deans connectors.
The stock gears are great so dont change them

Motor made the biggest difference for me in terms of reponse. The stock motor must be under powered.

For accuracy i did:
madbull 6.03 stainless steel barrel
Modify hopup unit,
modify flat hop bucking and nub.

For consistancy:
Shs metal nozzle with oring
Teflon sealed the piston head
Full steel teeth shs piston
Shs spring guide.
Modify tappet plate (but only cause mine broke)

I also have an m110 spring and it shoots 400 fps or just under.

My gun shoots like a beast now. 25rps with fps variance of only 2-3 fps.

Also have a ton of external mods just for looks but thats all personal preference.

Based on your goals of faster trigger response and longer range, the upgrades I would focus on are a high torque motor, a LiPo battery (9.6 or 11.1v), a new hop up bucking and a tightbore barrel.

The other parts you listed:
m120 spring
mad bull spring guide w/ ball bearings
pistons/piston head
gears

While they will make improvements to the gun, may not be necessary immediately.

What FPS is your gun currently firing at? If your goal is sub 400 fps, a hop up bucking with a better seal and a tightbore barrel will increase your fps by a small amount.

A m120 spring will dramatically increase your fps, but check what you're firing at currently. 400 fps might be your field limit but hitting 400 fps does not guarantee longer range shots. As an example look at Tokyo Marui guns. TM guns shoot at commonly lower FPS however because of the quality of their internals can out range many other stock AEGs.

The spring guide with ball bearings is also a good upgrade, but is more geared towards durability. It will decrease the stress on your spring and gearbox shell.

A new piston head and piston are also great upgrades, but if you are already shooting close to 400, then your air seal is should be ok. Getting these upgrades will improve your air seal and FPS consistency meaning. Shots will be more consistent.

As for gears, I would leave those as the last potential upgrade. Tossing a high torque motor and using an 11.1v lipo will already dramatically increase your trigger response. While I don't have much experience with high torque gear ratios, my understanding is that they are reserved for very high fps setups.
