i think the question should be what CAN'T you do with it... not as versatile as a 1911/.45 variant, but probably the second best series of guns as far as upgrades & modifications go.

Yeah, get a tightbore barrel for it, get a new hop up (stock one sucks a bit), get high flow valves for your mags (or mod stock ones - very carefully), get a better slide spring and hammer spring. WGC has a Hurricane kit for this gun that has pretty much everything you'll need to start.
I also found putting a Pachmyr grip on to be very helpful.

I have already done the grip, now from what I understood when I picked up the glock, the slide spring etc all have been done. How can I find out for sure??

The only for sure way to tell would be to pull the components out of a stock unit and compare them to yours.

Or just bring it to someone who knows.
Another way to tell is to take a look at your recoil spring/rod. If the rod is black AND there's a rubber bumper on there, then it's a stock rod.

I have also not seen an upgrade for the hopup rubber for my glock yet (18c) nor for any other glock model.

It is upgraded. That was my glock. It has a guarder recoil spring and guide rod installed!
