How to lube my AEG

Hello everyone

At my local airsoft store the man that worked there told me a good way to lube a rifle is to spray a small amount of lube in where you feed your bbs. But all that did was destroy my hop up. So was this the right thing to do or no?

not the right thing to do. Never put oil directly into your hopup chamber. There's no reason for it.

Also never use spray oil,it has petroleum in it as a propellant, which makes rubber and silicone swell.

The only thing you really need to do is swab out the barrel to clean it maybe twice a year, or just check it for dust/dirt to see if you need to swab it.

If everything is working find (like feeding and shooting) don't touch a thing.

Lubrication is required in the gearbox but rarely needs to be reapplied if it was done right.

small bit to add...when you swab out your barrel, go as easy as you can so as not to scratch up the inner. Turn your hopup all the way off (remember where it was set to) so your rod doesn't ruin your rubber.

So your rod doesnt ruin your rubber i lol'ed at that.
Also what kind of lube are you using to clean it with? Get some pure silicone oil or even the amsoil food grade silicone spray is fine. Done use wd40 or other spray lubes from crappy tire and those types of stores.

best silicone oil to use is remote control car bearing oil it comes in a tube, is not spray propelled.
