g&p m249 boxmag
hello sirs,
just want to ask if anybody has tried doing a mod for the g&p m249 boxmag from auto winding to pressure switch dependent feed.i ask this because i have the g&p m249 auto winding boxmag and i find it a little noisy when its auto loading.any expert advice as to how the auto winding could be disabled and make the boxmag wind only when the pressure switch is pushed or pressed. thanks for helping in advance sirs |

I too found it annoying and completely unnecessary
all you have to do is cut the circuit board out of the circuit wire it battery to pressure switch to feed motor to battery easy like pie |

hello sir thundercactus.do you have a diagram or illustration as to how it could be executed perfectly?im a little hesitant to handle the electronics of the boxmag as gnp m249 boxmags here in the philippines are expensive and hard to come by

You're not handling the electronics, you're throwing them in the garbage, you don't need them lol

tried this connection just now sirs.motor seems to be heating up very quickly.im using a nicad 9.6 batt.do i need to lessen the incoming voltage going to the motor?if so what do you recommend sirs?

I'm running an 11.1v LiPo on mine, that's a max of 12.6v
What saves the motor is those tiny little wires choking all the current trying to go through. It will get hot for sure, but mine lasted over a year and a half and ended up stripping one of the plastic gears before doing any motor damage Also may be worth noting, the boards on these box mags don't like anything above 9.6v My 11.1v LiPo would cause the motor to trickle down in speed then stay on at very low speed. I don't know shit about electronics, I just know the problem is caused by an 11.1v LiPo lol You're better off having the pressure switch only anyway, there's no use feeding ammo when you don't need it to. got the details sir thunder cactus.thats my next plan.using a lipoly for the gun and motorized boxmag. any idea what voltage limiting device i can use so i can powerup the boxmag at just an average condition?

it'll run safely off an 11.1v lipo, but the gears aren't the greatest
If you're not running 1500rpm, a 9.6v nimh should do it. that motor doesn't require any real amperage to run, so you won't see a performance difference between a 10.8v nimh and 11.1v lipo |
