a new race gun

as title says, I'm trying to build a race gun for my local IPSC contests. for this, I'm trying to get as much help as it possible from you.
now, I own a TM Glock 17. I'm pretty happy with it. but my goal is to build a TM Hi capa 5.1. mostly because the aftermarket parts are endless.
so, I made a list with parts to upgrade:

TM Hi capa 5.1 Custom version
Airsoft Surgeon CNC Metal Slide for Marui HI-CAPA 5.1
NINE BALL Short Stroke Recoil Spring
Shock buffers
Airsoft Surgeon Super Light Weight Speed Blow Back Housing
Shooters Design POM Cylinder Set
Tokyo Marui floating valve
PDI inner barrel 6.01 - 6"
NINE BALL Air Seal Chamber Packing
AIP Aluminum Trigger
KM Steel High Flow Magazine Valve
Nine Ball Absorbing Mag Bumper
NINE BALL Gas Route Packing
AIP Adjustable Magzine Catch & Release
ProHandgun New Aluminum SV Magwell
Shooters Design Reinforced Magazine Lip for Marui Hi-Capa Magazine

this is not a final list. and that's because there are things I don't know how to do them, such as: if I use a 6" inner barrel I will need a compensator. so, it is better to keep the plastic slide and use a 5" inner barrel?
for AS metalic slide, which outer barrel is better?

1. It doesn't make sense co combine the Nine Ball Short Stroke recoil spring with the Airsoft Surgeon shock buffers. You will get feeding issues because the slide won't stroke back far enough (assuming you are using three shock buffers - you would essentially be short stroking a short-stroked setup. :P)

2. You will need some form of a compensated setup or a 6" outer barrel in order to run a PDI 6" inner barrel

3. You need a metal outer barrel to match the metal slide, or else you will destroy the plastic barrel. You are always best to match brands. Airsoft Surgeon, ILLusion Kinetics, they come from the same factory. With ILLusion Kinetics, you can get other options, such as more realistic chamber markings, options for gold plating, etc.

4. The Nine Ball Mag Bumper has fitment issues with many flared magwells. I would recommend something else. I personally prefer the metal bumpers.

1. ok. so there will be no shock buffers. or, I can buy a Guarder 150% recoil springs with AS shock buffers (I think I can make them from plastic with a Proxxon milling machine). but I really don't know which setup is better.
2.since I can't make an open gun (we are to few competing and I will be the only one having such a gun) I have to use sights. I like fiber optic sights. I'm using them on my TM GLock 17. so, which option is better: keeping the plastic slide ( I honestly don't think so since I'm using green gas) with that short stroke spring or changing the slide to metal one? with a 5" PDI inner barrel the problem would be solved right away, but I would like the 6" setup since it offers more power and accuracy.
3. if I will use a metalic slide, I will follow your advice and I will buy a metal outer barrel.
4.that is not problem. I will again follow your advice.

1. My personal preference for a short stroke setup, is the Guarder 150% springs or Airsoft Surgeon 170% springs + Airsoft Surgeon Shock Buffers, or some other form of an active rebound mechanism using a stiff spring, such as the Marui Xtreme Spring setup. I believe AIP sells something similar. I have extra Xtreme rebound kits in stock as well if you wanted to go that route. But for what it's worth, the performance of 3x Airsoft Surgeon Shock Buffers is essentially the same as the Xtreme spring set. I've tried lockout (non compression) methods before, with plastic bushings, metal washers, high coil count springs, etc... but none of them perform as well as an active rebound setup.

2. Plastic slides cycle faster, produce less muzzle flip, and use less gas, thus, maintaining higher gas pressure consistency. BUT... if you are concerned about longevity and durability, you will want to consider a metal slide, especially if you want a bit more kick. With that said, the installation of shock buffers will greatly reduce the chance of the plastic slide breaking. I've seen many plastic slides last for well over 5,000 to 10,000 rounds before they break.

If you want a more powerful and accurate setup, why not go even further with a 7" setup? Or a 14" setup? Especially if nobody around you is doing IPSC, you could build a pretty mean field gun with an extended inner barrel running through a mock silencer.

following your directions, I reconsidered my wishing list:
Shooters Design Limcat Phantera Knife Metal Slide
Shooters Design Compensator -Ready Outer Barrel
Shooters Design 5 In. Comp-Ready Steel Outer Barrel
Guarder Enhanced Recoil & Hammer Spring
Airsoft Surgeon Shock Buffer
Shooters Design Metal Magazine Base B
since I can't find all these parts on a single site, I will use a plastic slide with shock buffers.

I am building a tm glock 17 race gun, there aren't as much parts available as the hi capa, but enough to make an awesome race gun. Since the glock has less parts to start out with, it is a very simple build. Not to mention, it is cheaper to build as well.

Here are what I am putting into my glock 17c

Shooter design metal slide and outer barrel
PDI 6.01 inner barrel
Nine ball hop up rubber
Gun modify zero hammer
Gun modify adjustable trigger
SA magwell
Magpul speed plates for mags
Guarder 150% recoil spring and rod
Guarder reinforce lower frame
Guarder hi output valve
Shooter design mag catch
AIP BBU
Micro red dot sight
Silverback red dot sight mount (top of the slide)

I would change the BBU unit. but as you said, there are fewer parts for Glock series.
you're right: it's cheaper to upgrade a TM Glock 17, but I think that in stock form, Hi-capa 5.1 is better. I fired few pellets and I like the grouping.
nevertheless, you don't have to upgrade your pistol all at once. I don't have enough money now to buy all the pieces. so, I will do as Illusion said: using shock buffers and a plastic slide. but even so, I can't find a site with Hi-capa in stock. I'm mainly looking to ehobbyasia, wgc and redwolfairsoft.

the 5.1 is always going to be more accurate and have a better grouping in stock form. the inner barrel is almost 1 inch longer.

Inner barrel of glock = Inner barrel of hi-capa 4.3 < Inner barrel of hi-capa 5.1

it's like comparing apples to oranges.

yes...you're are right. but I'm talking about getting de 5.1 to the next level. I know I can use it in stock form with some minor mods.

an this is how it shoots, before (stock form) and after upgrade.
in the second photo, those 5 hits coloured in pink are shot from 5 metres (16,4 feet). the others are from 7 metres (23 feet).
