Gear Question: MOLLE or pre-loaded?

Quick newbie question to those with experience:

I've been hunting around, and it looks like vests, chest rigs, and other load bearing gear come in two flavors structurally: permanently direct sewn pouches, and the MOLLE webbing layout.

MOLLE vests seem moderately more expensive to get combat ready (pouches come separately), but I can see the pre-loaded vests quickly becoming useless as your loadout changes over time (or you end up not liking the positioning of something, for that matter). I have come across a few molle types with pouches included...but that was on airsoftpark (.com), and the pleasingly low price point make me doubt it's quality overall.

Opinions and/or preferences?

Molle...modify my loadout for anything, also I can put the pouches where I feel comfortable

I've bought a "TMC" brand vest off ebairsoft. and it hasnt let me down in terms of quality.

Molle if you aren't sure of where you want gear or plan to run a few different rigs.

Fixed pouches for light weight/low profile.

if you are doing some pre 90's loadout then no molle (Navy seals in 90's, Russians in afganastan, etc), otherwise molle all the way

I started out with lots of Molle gear, but apart from my belt rig I've pretty much gotten rid of most of it. It's heavy when it's wet and honestly I like my chicoms more. So now I have two chicoms depending on my primary. Chicoms are super low profile, very light, and they're rugged. I paid $50 for the two that I have. One holds AK mags and the other is for armalite magazines.

The only molle chest rig I own these days is actually just a molle chicom (Mini-MAV).

These days I'm using a Molle plate carrier with a separate battlebelt. The carrier is userfull to carry a lot of stuff like my hydration bladder and extra mag pouch. When it gets to hot or I want to play light, I only use the battlebelt wich has double mag pouchs, radio pouch and holster. To start with you only need a few molle mag pouch and an hydration pouch. I like the fact it's not to hot during the summer. Once in a while I buy myself a few new pouchs so that I can modify my loadout to meet my immediate needs.

+1

If you know what you want and don't think it's going to be changing then fixed is cheaper, lighter and lower profile. If you are not sure how you want to run your loadout and you have money to spare then molle.

I personally knew exactly what I wanted and knew I wasn't changing, so I got an Eagle fixed chest rig and it's served me very well over the years. No regrets here.

Get a MOLLE rig and don't look back.

You can set your rig up any way you want, including to be low profile. You can get all kinds of different pouches and, with them, you can set up your rig to do everything a static rig can do. Then you can change it to do something else.

Versatility is an essential quality in any piece of gear I buy, because I never know what I might need later, and I'd rather not have to buy something new down the road.

MOLLE....always MOLLE. You can switch it up for any situation or any gun setup.
Get a good brand of vest and pouches too, not shitty chinese stuff that will start coming apart your second game in.

Started out with a Molle rig, but have since changed to a fixed rig. Like the versatility the Molle provided, but since I knew what I wanted and I found a fixed rig that was in the camo pattern I wear and had the number of and locations of the pouches I have since changed over.
