Exclamation Cannot Decide between two average assault rifles having a tough time making my decision DPMS M4 Carbine (A-15) OR Aftermath Broxa : (

Hey guys im not the most experienced in the airsoft field yet i am a perfect shot and know all the internals by heart in many of my airsoft AEG's and GBB's. But i am having a very tough time deciding between my next AEG it will either be a DPMS (JG) M4 Carbine shoots about 380-400FPS with .2 (will be using .25) and a crazy 900 RPM many people say its an awesome gun and i personally think so too according to the specs. OR the Aftermath broxa which has about the same FPS but not too sure about the ROF Many RIS rails, Foregrip, Larger MAG, and is slightly cheaper by $20. Guys do not flame me for posting this because these guns are generally less than $200 Airsoft is my hobby not my life, i am not willing to spend 1000's of dollars on this sport i am buying these mainly to play with my friends and have a good time i currently own a number of guns some being, Afterath Kraken, Sig Sauer P226, UHC Revolver, a C02 NBB silver Colt 1911, TF11 (Mac 11), and and Air Mag C11. + many more spring guns (crap) So ya anything will help be it experience or knowledge you would like to share. Thanks guys wish you all the best.

I never understood why some people will buy a shit load of crappy guns when you could get just a few really good ones. Save up some more money, get AV'ed and put your hard earned money to something more worthwhile.

I've used the Broxa for 3 years and it has been great for me. I've recently upgraded to a TM M14.
Buy what you can afford to get you started, but realize that you get what you pay for. Cheaper guns are a crap shoot and you won't get any help on this board.

The M4 is actually a JG so it would be decent. (Unless it's the all plastic mechbox cheap version which is absolute shit)

As long as it's not the cheapo model with plastic gears, that JG M4 will be just fine.

Broxa though.... well, I wouldn't. Aftermath products are too hit or miss. For someone with technical expertise, they can be made into decent guns and problems are easily repaired.

The JG M4 is the better of the two.

However the accuracy out of the box is a bit wonky after 100 feet.

My guess it is similar to the one discussed and taken apart in this thread thread:

Tough call, I have the kraken and its much more accurate than the JG (panther), (yes from experience)...but I have not had experience with the broxa.

If you are playing outside, I'd say the panther, inside, broxa.

I love my kraken, not going to lie its never let me down. I do have teh CQB knight from aftermath as well. Its sketchy, the hop up is shot I think...for cqb its a good choice cuz I got it on sale.

They're both very low quality.

the "JG" that DPMS sells is the old 1st gen stuff that is AWFUL and the Broxa is a low end re-branded Cyma.

Save your dollers, get something better from the classified section.

This is what we're saying!!!

Out of the box they can be great and last a 100,000 BB's or horrible and not even go through a quarter of a mag. This is both sides of the extreme though and if anything the distribution is probably approximately normal with a right/positive skew. That is because of lower QC standards you're slightly more likely to get a crappy gun.

Basically you lucked out on the Kraken but the Knight is one of those ones that you see problems with because of the low QC standards.

PS: I'm not saying the Kraken (and by extension some of the other Aftermath products) is a bad gun at all, far from it. If you're a gundoc, wanting a project gun, or just want a base platform to upgrade and practice/learn gun doctoring skills on and give to friends as a loaner then they're great for what you're paying for.
