Motor sparkling

Simple question:

I disassembled my M4 for maintenance and upon reassembly, I tested the motor out of the grip. It works well, but it made quite a lot of sparkles... This was with a 7.4v LiPo. Wires were not overheating... just sparkles at the rear of the motor shaft.

Is it normal? It may have always been like that I dunno... but it just catched my attention.

This motor is a standard A&K motor I took from my Masada to temporarily replace my G&P M120 whose pinion gear is totally wrecked.

Thanks,
Conker

Unfortunately it IS normal lol
It shouldn't be it's own fireworks show, but there should be just a little bit of sparking.
Now I'm no expert on motor work, but in my experience, I've had to get the motors REALLY finely tuned by an expert and running off 8.4v batteries to get absolute minimal sparking.... My 249 and M4 do spark, but not very much. And I haven't seen a stock motor that hasn't sparked yet lol

Anyway, as long as the motor isn't overheating, you've got nothing to worry about
If it's overheating and/or eating batteries at an abnormal rate, then you should look into getting it tuned up or buying a new motor.

take out the bushings and clean them. also if you know how, disassemble the motor and pull out the shaft to get clean.

Sparks are normal in electric motors.
