My latest custom : C8A3 GBB

Hello, at last it is complete, thanks to a few guys from Canada - may a 1000 angels protect you from harm (and small arms).

The base is the KJ Works M4 and that's why the pictures show it with the obsolete Thermomold magazines. A firm in the US is working on USGI mags so until then...

The pictures :

Steel Outer barrel with Simon sleeve refinished in a darker shade, as per RS pictures
4 position stock (RS Diemaco)
Recoil butt pad (RS Diemaco)
Sling plate (RS, no brand)
Ambidextreous magazine catch (RS Diemaco)
Ambidextreous Fire selector (KJ Works + RS)
Ambidextreous charging handle latch (RS Diemaco)
Forward tri-mount TRIAD (RS Diemaco)
Sling (RS Diemaco)
CAR handguards (RS Diemaco, painted green as on many C8s - do they use molded green handguards now ?)
Green pistol grip (RS Diemaco)

Optical accessories that can be installed on the rifle
- DIS (RS Diemaco)
- BUIS (RS Diemaco)
- Eotech 552 (Hurricane)
- C79A2 Elcan (Samurai)

Hope you like...

Maybe one day I'll find the correct right side fire selector...

Best

Vincent

Hello

Small update on the project :

I wasn't super happy with the barrel finish - it was a real poor job from the chinese factory. But because the barrel is steel, it was possible to refinish it.

This was achieved by sanding the finish off, back to bare steel. I then parkerized it myself with a home made manganese based phosphate solution (the same as Diemaco uses). The darker shade of the sleeve was achieved, like on the RS, by making the protective layer thicker than on the barrel itself.

Not too bad for an home made job...

I'll post pictures of the whole gun later - it now has the proper laser designator (the basic model)

Best regards from Finland

very very nice.

I want to build one of these. is there a retailer selling the RS furniture somewhere?

A C8 GBBR would be a nice build
