GBBR DMR scratch build (G&P/WA/Iron Airsoft based) (Pics page 7!)
So... Recently I got hooked to the GBBR band waggon, and after numerous researches, I decided to go for a G&P/WA based gun, and also, I decided to build it from scratch... (In the end, it should be 200-300$ cheaper then buying a Stock WOC, and upgrading it )
I also decided to go for a mk18 mod1 So far, this is what I got, still waiting for some other pieces: - G&P m4a1 metal body (thanks to Karma for importing it (not pictured)) - G&P WA Reinforced Assemble Parts (Frame Set) for WA M4 GBB - G&P WA SPR Cocking Handle (Laser Engraving) for WA M4 Series - G&P 6.08mm Inner Barrel w/ Hop Up Chamber Set for WA M4A1 Series (A, 300mm) - PROWIN magazine - G&P KAC sights (Thanks to KLusTeR) - G&P WA Steel Sling Adaptor for WA M4 Series - ARES M16A2 Type Pistol Grip for M4/M16 GBB (BK) - MAGPUL PTS MOE Polymer Trigger Guard for M4 GBB / PTW - DYTAC Carbine Gas Tube for M4 Series (Length: 221mm) - G&P VLT Low Profile Gas Block for M4/M16 Series - AABB 245 mm inner barrel - 5ku Steel ball bearing hammer (it's total garbage... :S) - Element armorer's wrench - TM speed loader (Prowin mags are a pain in the a$$ to reload... :S) here's a detailed view of the G&P frame pieces... (hopefully, G&P took the time to pack group of parts together, so I dont receive a pile of pins and springs... lol) So, yesterday, I spent the afternoon figuring out how to assemble the internals into the lower receiver... and now it works.. here's my set up so far... As you can see, it's not completed yet, I'm still waiting for some other parts to arrive... - G&P crane stock - 5ku multi lengh outer barrel set - RA-tech NPAS complete bolt - RA-tech Bolt catch - RA-tech heavy recoil buffer - RA-tech hop up rubber - Socom gear DD mk18 RIS II (FDE) rail - Socom gear barrel nut for G&P receivers - Madbull gemtech G5 silencer Hope you like it so far.... :P Last edited by Gunny_McSmith; August 16th, 2012 at 22:09.. |

Just be aware, the buffer tube doesnt come with a castlering and youll need a hop up rubber as well.
If you need any Pro win gas seal rubbers, let me know, I just mistakenly ordered a crapload of the wrong size lol.

And I ordered a G&P multipurpose buttstock (this one (LINK) So it should come with the castle nut right?) |

I got the full assembly set, not the receiver only set. Mine came with a buffer tube, but did not come with the castle ring.

Not 100% sure, but Im leaning towards a "block" or stoppage to prevent the grip screw from going too deep. Yes I know that sounds redundant, but I cant think of any other reason for it being there.

That screw was already installed when i received my metal body. I found that you can actually adjust the screw to tighten or loosen the tolerance between the upper and lower. Very nice build man! In fact i started building mine this morning! I'm finished now! Good luck with your build!

That screw is meant to be adjustable to remove the upper/lower receiver play.
Either turn it in or out to take the slop out (personally I'd leave a bit of slop so as not to overstress the metal) On some bodies that "pin" is a spring loaded plunger which is very nice. |

Quick question on this. I ordered a madbull 6.03 tight bore barrel from airsoft parts and they threw in a TM seal with it but my gun is an AEG. Do i need this? I placed 2 orders though a battery the next day so i ended up paying double shipping. Maybe they threw it in because i payed the extra cause everything arrived in one package anyways..

Not sure what a "TM seal" is? do you mean a little brass ring? If so, yes, it slips over the inner barrel and wedges/centers it in the hopup unit. |

Interesting is that grub screw only ment to be accessable when you remove the grip screw? (IE, the allen key side facing down) or adjustable from the top? (Ie, when the upper is popped open, allen key side facing up)
