CO2 Adapters

Well I'll be a noob in the world of CO2 so, so the adapters fit onto say, a paintball marker canister of do I need to buy a special air canister?

What else do I need to know? Which CO2 adapter should I get?

dude. you should have just PM'd me.

the madbull with the gauge is the better. I know people who don't use the gauge but then they don't really know how much CO2 has been transferred. there are so many variables that put you in the dark when you don't use one. things that affect fills are temperature, how long you hold it on, how full your tank is etc...

for what you're using it for, get the one with a pressure gauge. you can make incremental psi changes to lock in your range!

pickup a 20oz paintball CO2 tank. remove the 12g cage on the charger. install charger onto tank until finger tight. then carefully crank it a little more. tighten no more than an 1/8th of a turn each time checking for pressure by tightening the knob on the charger and watching the gauge. newer versions have a set screw for you to lock it in place.

So can you use those little 12g CO2 canisters from pellet guns to reload shells?

Would that adapter with gauge work for propane at all or does propane fill not matter as much? I got a decent metal propane adapter with a silicone oil reservoir without thinking to much about gauges.

no. the threading on a propane tank is different than CO2 tanks.

there is no need for a gauge with propane as the maximum psi is not all that high. nothing to control where as CO2 on a hot day can exceed 900psi on a full tank.

+1 on a hot day my co2 tank is a little over 1200 psi.

Let me clarify for those that don't want to use a gauge.

At 900psi, a madbull cherry (xm108) the valve is so twitchy, that it became a mortar when it was being loaded in a CAW revolver. The person loading was lucky to only get a mouthful of bb's at the nade travelled up and away. It landed about 50 yards away. Take a cherry to the chops at that velocity and be lucky if it only knocks you out! There is more than enough forward energy for bb's to be extremely dangerous.

Knowing what you charge your nade at is your responsibility. Hurt someone with an over charged nade, expect the consequences!

I would never run that grenade anywhere near max during a game. During the competitions though is another matter

without a gauage you really cant tell how much you charged it. If you dont get a gauge, my rule is 5 sec charge.

Otherwise like coachster said, just loading the shell in the launcher will cause it to shoot. Trust me from personal experience. Lucky for me it was just testings in my backyard.

I used to use propane a lot for my sidearms but new to the CO2 scene
