Ways to make it harder for a TM hi-capa 5.1 mag release to engage by itself?
I own a TM hi-capa 5.1 and sometimes when I bend down or bump my holster, the mag release button is pressed on and the mag falls out.
Someone told me it's a common gripe about the hi-capa 5.1 Anyways to make it so that releasing the mag requires more strength, thus reducing unexpected mag releasing?

1. Hard (molded) holster Ã* la Safariland 6004 or Blackhawk SERPA
2. Harder spring for the release button

I ran into that problem using those one-size-fits-all type holsters. I recently bought a blade-tech holster, fits like a glove and it doesn't ride up on the mag release.

Next time we are at the Mill together Silver, I'll let you try my Serpa and see if you like it.

The 5.1 has a "target" mag release that is tall compared to a lot of others. Either mod you holster so there isn't material right on top of the button, switch to a hard holster, grind the mag release down or swap it with a TM 4.3 Hicapa mag release (it'll fit right in place).

Thanks for the holster suggestions but I use an "on-vest" holster.
The other suggestions are quite good. I'll look into them. If anyone has any other ideas, feel free!

haha had the same problem for my first game.... and lost my one and only mag... :S .... but after 30minutes of walking back on my steps... i found it!
I'm gonna try putting a piece of tape on the mag and grip to prevent it from falling... let see what will happen... |

Otherwise, I'd go with m102404's suggestion.

- take flathead screw driver,
- insert in the rear of mag release, (there should be a hole with a flat head screw...) - push and rotate (left or right cant remember...:S) --- this disengages/locks the spring - then remove the magcatch! hope it helps |
