Red face Umarex H&K G36C AEG

Hey, well i'm new to airsofting and i just got a gun : the Umarex H&K (officially liscenced) G36C non blowback version.( http://www.umarexusa.com/product/HK-...Gun,194,66.htm). I know it isn't the most awesome gun around but i just got something to get into airsofting and learn how to take care of a gun etc. The gun shoots at 300fps and is battery powered. It features a cocking system where if there is no battery, pulling back on the cocking handle allows you to shoot with spring power.the mag holds 300 bb's and it has a fold up stock, and the gun is black coloured. Well i was just wondering if anyone on the forum has had this gun and knows if there are any mods (internal/external) that can be done on it.

Thanks in advance,
Sibie (Calvin) :smile:

I just read the horrible product description on their website.

In terms of internal and external modifications its all based on what you wish to achieve, so what is it you wish to achieve?
Is there anything wrong with leaving well enough alone?

Comical quotes from the website product description.

Quote:
The H&K G36 C Airsoft gun can go between semi and fully automatic with the flip of a switch.
Switches eh? I suppose that would be much easier than a complicated pulley system.

Quote:
The foldable stock and adjustable hop-up allow for ease of use and quick reloading.
That must be new. Stocks and hop up units now add +5 to reloading.

Quote:
* Powerful motor
* Rapid fire
* Dual power
* Foldable stock
* Adjustable Hop-up
* Powered by 8.4V NiMH battery
* Battery & charger included
* Adjustable rear sight
* Tactical railing
* Black finish
Runs on both hydro and solar energy!

dual power as in, when it isn't running on battery, it becomes a springer

Scratch hydro and solar.

Its dual power system works on both nuclear fission or bio diesel.

Anyways I do not believe many if any members of this forum would own this item at this time.
So unfortunately there is little to no information available at this time.

To continue with support as a non-age-verified user. Please answer the following questions as well as supply the numbers and letters from the post above.

1. Why would you want to make a POS "stronger" if it's just to see how guns work and entry into the sport?

2. If you want to do the above, why not get a decent gun? Then you don't have to spend ridiculous amounts of money to try to upgrade something not worthy.

3. This is not a question more rather a statement. Try reading the FAQ's and other Newbie posts to see what others are doing. Get a feel and a sense for what we are about here and what the "Standard" is. That way, you don't look like a doofus showing up to a game under-age and with a POS ClearSoft gun.

He didn't do his research and just came here expecting us to spoonfeed him.

Who actually manufactures this gun?

They offer a black or clear version on that website, so as long as he ordered clear he wouldn't have a problem.

Having a spring backup option does appeal to me - but since it's not tried and tested, I would assume that it'll mean poor performance and limited upgrade potential (since it will use proprietary parts in the mechbox).

POS. Paint it black and add a sling and a flashlight, then game it until it breaks and throw it away.

Lol some guys post is gone. I think he was outnumbered in here .

@ Kid exactly man. No one does research. No one. When I first registered, all I did was read posts. I never posted. Once I started learning things I hopped into the conversations. This kid decided he was smart and would get everyone to do the work for him. HA.

Moved to the tank in hopes that some helpful information may trickle in.

As it stands now the only thing that I can recommend to the OP is to contact Umarex to see if they can provide you any details on the internal workings. Specifically if it is based off a version 3 mechbox like other G36 models or if its internal system is proprietary and incompatible with standard manufactured aftermarket parts.
