protect your teeth, keep your mouth closed.
protect your fingers also, thin gloves are a plus.
it's especially painful in the middle of the back and in the ass but those don't need special protection.

considering the summer's coming, extra protection (more than a shirt) is going to be a bit too hot.
also too much padding will make you not feel the hits.

it's nothing like paintball so you shouldn't worry about that.

A close range shot to the face will sting pretty good and leave a nice welt. I now know this first-hand. If that sort of thing concerns you, wear a full mask at all times.

And +1 to Jimski on the gloves.

if it did not hurt, it would not be as fun!!!! Hehe... i think it hurts!!! It's more like a stinging.... For me, it leaves huge bruises... But sooooo worth it!!! You will have a full face mask, so for the face its ok, but if you ever devide to go the goggles way, dont be shy to wear a mouthguard!!! I have seen too many teeth being knocked out.... lol

We always ask if BBs hurt us when they hit...but we never ask if it hurts a BB to be launched out a barrel at >300fps.

I certainly appreciate him opting to get manhandled, bound and shot at all night ...in exchange for an opportunity to meet the guys, see what's what with gear/weapons/stuff you need/etc...

To Joazin92:
- We've got you sorted out with a full face mask set and will brief you on some specifics.
- I might have an extra helmet since you're probably going to take some close-ish shots...maybe not, bring a hat.
- LOOSE clothing is key...baggy t-shirt + baggy long sleeves is minimal to take a bit of the sting out.
- we're playing right into the evening...so it might get cold...a baggy sweat-shirt/hooddie would work well. Dress for the weather...it's outdoors.

* you'll be fine, we'll keep an eye out for you
+1000 on this and this is also where the term tighty whitey literally meant you will cry like a baby so wear really loose clothing

Depends on what FPS you play in(consult your field), the range you got shot and your level of protection. It is generally less painful than paintball and the welts would be smaller but it might break the skin if its pretty close range and unprotected area.

So... the bb is accelerated to over 300fps in under a second, so that's like 10g's of acceleration?

Anyways, personally, I haven't been hit in the face yet, but the most painful shot I've had is the calf... the second was the inner thigh. I've gotten hit in the calf twice, and it was extended both times.. the thigh was when I thought my guy had cleared the ridge, so I pushed the lower area, when this dude started shooting at me.. So I ran kind of at him, a little to the side, and he tagged me in the thigh.. If only my hopup wasn't screwed (it overhops with .2's and I haven't swapped it out yet) I would have gotten him.

If you dont want bloody hands in CQB, wear gloves. Yes it does hurt at some point, any object that will hit your body at a fast rate would make an effect. Its not paintball where a bigger object and going about 400 FPS. It stings, but when you get hit thats when you start liking the game, because you wanna go out there and hit someone too.
