Sling Adaptors, sling suggestion
Hi guys,
I am trying to get my 2-point sling to work on my ICS M4 CQB... It comes with a 20mm rail sling swivel, for the front part of the gun... But since my M4 CQB version has a folded stock, it doesn't have another swivel part for the 2nd point of the sling... I was looking at this website : http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...x&cPath=74_128 The 2nd item seems to be the one I think I want... Do most of all of these adapters work? Or do each brand have its own version of these adapters? Also, difference between 1-point and 2-point sling? What do most people have? I think 2-point sling is more secure, or does it not matter? |

Pretty much any buffer tube plate will work. Might require a little bit of fitting depending on your buffer tube dimensions.
As to slings. It really depends on what you are using them for. What they are not for is carrying your rifle. They are for retention if you have to use both hands or transition to a secondary. So depending on what tasks you have to perform while airsofting will determine what sort of sling you need. In general most people will do just fine with a 1-point for airsoft. The only 2 points I would recommend are the fast adjustable ones like the Blue Force Gear Vickers, Viking Tactical VTAC or Magpul one whatever it's called. -Grant |

Ah I see.
I am considering a more tactical play style, and not a ranged play style. In a game I would move forward, but slowly taking cover and doing things 1 step at a time. I love the idea of using my pistol for CQB situations, hence why I am looking at the slings... So you are saying the 1-point sling would be good enough eh? I guess 2 point sling wouldn't hurt either. Thanks for the tips |

I ended up going with these guys
http://www.urbanertslings.com Getting a modular Sling that goes on my LBV and weapon adapters thus all my guns have sling adapters on them and I click them into the same sling... either in a 1 point (Left or right or Centre) or when I am doing lots of walking and dont want the side to side swing a 2 point harness Great system http://www.youtube.com/v/YP2tfqpDqNk |

You would probably be fine with 1 or 2 point slings.
However if you are purposefully transitioning to a secondary for CQB situations, then running a quick adjustable 2-point does keep the weapon tighter to the body. 1 point slings generally having it flailing around whenever you aren't actively holding it, they are basically just a retention strap. Right now I run a vest mounted 1-point, but I'm most likely moving to a 2-point system in the near future. -Grant |

I agree with Grant. I'm not a gear junkie at all, but I just want to say that I was running a timed shooting course yesterday with a two point sling on my HK416. I suddenly realized that my mag wasn't feeding, and decided that dropping my primary and drawing my pistol would be much faster. I nailed that target, but had to run closer to the next one. Problem was, I don't have any straps to cinch tight on my 2-point (hence why I agree with Grant regarding the quick-adjustable-ness in a 2-point) - this resulted in my rifle magazine knocking me in the nuts with every step. From 1-point demo's that I've seen, a 1-point would have very likely been a better sling for me and my skill level in this situation.
However, I purposely chose a 2-point sling for myself as it allows me to carry the carbine comfortably at an angle diagonal to my body - something that I find is much easier to reach for if my hands aren't already there. Furthermore, I've come to realize (from observations on guys using 1-points) that going hands free with a 1-point tends to result in an AEG flopping around and into tree branches... No offense to guys running 1-points out there, but I just don't feel like the added weapon mobility is worth having a loose AEG hanging out. Last edited by juicy; April 18th, 2010 at 15:27.. |

That sling is decent, but has one small issue:
When cinched the tab to loosen it is under your reaction arm armpit. Works great as a 1-point with occasional 2-point use though. The BFG slings tighten so that the tab to loosen them goes towards the front sling swivel, much easier to locate there. -Grant |
