G3-SG1 metal body compatibility

Would a CA body fit on a JG? I especially concerned about the internals fitting in with the CA body, as well as the JG plastic cocking tube/inner barrel tube fitting on the CA body.

Set up I would like to run would be:
JG G3-SG1 base gun
CA G3 body (light type)
CA G3 slither stock
Guarder gearbox shell
JG hop up unit

AFAIK, yes. I'd assume CA is TM compatible, right?

Well seeing as i have done this there a few problems you will encounter. i have a jg mech and CA metal body and sole metal cocking tube. so your question about the cocking i am not sure, but looking at my g3 it shouldn't be an issue. As for internal fitment there are a few problems. it would appear that the jg body is a little longer then the ca. this might be the case or the internal ring that holds the hopup is slightly longer. i noticed this as i had to trim about a 1/4inch of the plastic hopup to make is all fit. there does seem to be some feed issue which i havent figured out yet. i have a ca air seal nozzle and ca metal hopup on order. i am hoping the hopup is slightly shorter and the air seal is the same also. if you want more info drop me a pm and i will do what i can. i have been told a ca mechbox will fix the problem but as far as i am aware the outer dimensions should be the same.

The JG is "TM Compatible" It's a selling feature more than it is a reality.
Anyway I wouldn't be worried about compatibility, The original CA G3 receiver was built as a replacement for the TM plastic receiver, and it still took me 5 hours of modding to get it to fit.

Okay, thanks. That's nice and straight forward, lol.

Hmm, thanks for the detailed response....

Anyway, looks like I won't be going for a CA metal body after all... I've just gotten completely fed up with the sheer length of my G3 as of gaming on Sunday.
