I bought from Front Of Russia before. They do have a rep for sending you things you didn't order though, as in wrong sizes etc.

I bought an RD-54 from there, and got the RD-54 stuffed with an Afghanka cap, Ukrainian cigarettes and christmas cards, and several Soviet airborne patches. It took a while to get here, and the money order thing does suck in this day and age of PayPal, but I'd consider buying from them again if they had something I really needed.

I got the Christmas cards from Front of Russia too... one had a very lovely WW2 war memorial that comprised of a T-34 tank with a really cheesy flower border and a postcard (with a another picture of a war memorial comprising of some very stern looking soldiers) that had a thank you note (I think) on the back.

I also got a free Afghanistan field cap (far too small unfortunately, but free) and (strangely) some WW2 era puttees from the 1930's to early 40's Soviet Army and a copied CD of Russian marching songs! (I swear I am not making this up)

As I said in a previous post, the 2 orders I had from there have been fine, but I have seen some poor feedback about them in other forums.

Another cool loadout McTaz, where did you get that chest rig? I wouldnt mind getting something more up to date, would make a nice change instead of the old RD-54 backpack and Afghan chest rig I use for my modern russian impressions...

Cheers for the recommendations guys, although I said "modern" to be honest it more a early 90's/1st Chechen war look, Flora pattern VDV BDU's when warm with Army winter fatigues for Autumn/Winter (with the fur collar) both impressions use jack boots (I cant get Russian lace ups for love nor money).

When did the russian forces start using the more modern assault vests as shown by McTaz?

More less to the end of the first Chechen War. Grad-2 is high end gear and i never seen comon solder wearing it, maybe now days. But back then it was comon with Mor-Peh(Marines), GRU.

A wealth of Russian loadouts! nice work mctaz, very nice indeed.

I particularly like the "Gorka E" camo, looks cool and quite distinctive (most probably rare too?).

gotta try and get a Grad-2 vest to try and get a modern impression, all my Ruski loadouts are 1960's to early 1990's.

Nice, reversable.......It looks like a nice warm parka.
Hahaha I just got my set of M84 BDUs today too. I'm loving that pattern.
I also have a set of Ukrainian Army Speznaz cammo BDUs that should be here any day now as well.
