Can that ankle guard work in any other sports? If so I think I'll get something similar.

I'm using a pair of Oakley's 8" Assault Boot for Temperate Weather that's made in the States. I find that when they say it has a roomy box toe, it HAS a roomy box toe. Maybe I'll try the SI version but it also says that it has a roomy box toe design. Looks like the only difference is it's made in Asia and not in the USA.

Original Swat CB Desert boots in nice weather or my CF Mark IV in shitty weather.
The Mark IV boots aren't that bad. A bit clumpy but since I can't wear Mark III as they cut off circulation to my toes, I guess they'll do.

Do they provide ALOT of ankle support? If so it may be too much.

I've used the old CF leather boots for years, for airsoft and various other activities. I've had various things happen to me that I know would have resulted in injuries, except the rigidity of the boot kept my ankle from twisting far enough for that to happen.
I also have a pair of Bellvilles now (USMC). Haven't worn them out, but they're extremely comfortable. They almost feel like my Columbia Tigertooth hiking shoes.

But yea; These are the second best.. Only reason I didn't get the best is because the other ones work with air, and after a LONG time (Over 8 hours of wear) they'll deflate and lose their support.. The Active Ankle ones are fail proof. They're about 60 dollars each... And you can use them with pretty much any footwear. |

5.11 HRT Urban. Most comfortable (and amazingly rugged) footwear (boots or otherwise) I've ever worn.

^^^ I wear the same boots, not a bad boot. Comfy and light. Only complaint, not water proof at all and they seem to be wearing pretty fast?
A couple guys on my team wear Altima Exospeeds with great success and reviews. All I can say to people not wearing a proper boot, buy some, like a good pair of goggles, they are worth their weight in gold over a long day.
