I've had a TM px4 that shot well out of the box. Polymer body, nice weight, fits my hand. I mean, on the dot accurate. Then i realized the hop-up was off.

I was wondering why my shots were dropping off faster than other people's...

WE's externals are pretty good but nothing beats stock TM internals.

Duster and green gas are essentially the same as propane, minus the smell. It's only a few fps lower than regular propane.

Socom Gear Oasis by KJW - NBB for real cold weather, heavy DA only trigger. Stock
MGC P7M13 - Real classic. Not what you expect and no way would you game it. Stock
Tanio Koba USP Tactical - Classicish, range OK always worry if it'll break. Stock
Tanaka USP - Old school, not very good, underwhelming on all counts. Stock
KSC USP Compact- Very nice, safety doesn't work decocker does (normal) system 7/modern. Zeke metal slide
TM P226 - ILlusion FMK build. Nice but hard on gas. 2nd level fav. Too much changed to list
Marushin 6mm FN Five seveN - Curiousity and not a gaming gun. last part of a P90 setup. Stock
HK3/TM G34. WIP. steel Guarder slide only cycles in warm weather. Non-stock
WE/TM G17 Guns modify slide. Runs like a champ. Non-stock
Socom Gear/WE Timberwolf. Runs like a champ. Detonater slide, GM trigger, + more.
KSC G19 - Meh range, Upgrade from plastic KSC to metal KSC slide kit Stock otherwise.
Socom Gear/WE Wilson Tactical 1911 - Very reliable but average range. Finish scuffs up if you rub on metal like another gun, crispest trigger of the bunch. Stock
TM 1911 ILlusion built Hurricane kit. Current daily diver. 3rd owner and it shows hard use but it's still a tack diver. Too much to list.

So you can be like me and buy them all or you can try some stuff out first. You will get a lot of advice from folks who have never owned or used a particular model but have to preach the gospel someone else told them.

I do like pistols.

You don't have to start by choose a brand, instead, you can start to list the model(s) of pistols you like, then we help you come up with companies that are good in making that pistol.

For example:
1911: stay away from WE, KJW is pretty good, KWA/KSC too, and of course there is always TM.
Glocks: WE semi-autos are OK, WE full-autos are not OK, KJW is good, KWA/KSC are good but finding replacement parts may be a challenge.

Okay it's weaker and has a chemical component (in some cans) that can eat the o-ring... but it's still a propane propellant.

But like others said, figure out a platform you like and find the best brand for that one. No point buying a budget GBBP and not liking it because of its size, function, kick (yes, the blowbacks vary depending on the material and brands), etc. and having to deal with buyer's remorse.

I don't think you know what propane means.

Duster shoots about 100fps less than propane in the same gun.

Duster (tetrafluoroethane):

Will not go boom (do not confuse with difluoroethane, the cheap flammable duster gas that will eat your seals).

Completely different things.

Woops, I keep thinking that propane = green gas, and green gas = duster, for some reason. Thank you for clearing that up, and correcting me.

I'm genuinely curious now. How do you even make that jump from propane to greengas then greengas to duster? I've thought some stupid stuff before and made weird jumps in logic (can't think of any off the top of my head but I was talking to my girlfriend the other week and she pointed out a weird jump in logic that I had regarding something) without really thinking it through but the propane to duster thing is kind of a big jump to make.

I've heard that green gas is overpriced propane, similar to how duster is overpriced compressed air, so i keep grouping them together. I mean, 8-12 dollars for 1 can is pretty expensive vs 5 dollars for a propane cylinder.

I thought green gas was basically propane with a scent additive. I never researched green gas though so I could be completely mistaken.

@warplane: KP05 is a 2011/Hi-Capa. This means that the mags are double-stacked, so it has a larger mag capacity. The Les Baer is a MEU (I think), so mags will be single-stacked. Although single-stacking reduces capacity, the grip size is slimmer, so it may fit your hand better. Other than the mag capacity, grip size, and aesthetics, the 2 are pretty similar. Feel them both out, and choose the one you like in both comfort and looks.

@rest of people discussing gas: I always thought that green gas was propane with perfume as well. But I know duster is not equal to green gas.
