Eureka! it's plastic! lol the gun can accept a TM compatible Ver.3 gearbox, so in the future you can replace it with a real aeg box, as well as hopup chamber and inner barrel, the gun is still really fragile tho, so it might not be worth it.

yea, i also have figured out that it is TM mag able, so you can buy a spare AK mag for it.

Nope. Not worth it IMO. Would cost more for upgrade parts that it would to just buy a new gun. IMO, this is a wall hanger, nothing more, even if it had a metal mechbox shell.

Wasn't to contradict your point, as the gearbox can be slightly seen with just the pistol grip off too. But if it was a quick glance, one could make a mistake.

k, so i was outside adjusting my hop-up, because i did take off the battery tray to see the gearbox and nudged the hop up while doing so, so i ahve that down, and i see what you mean by veering to the left, but there isn't a problem when you've got it at the right spot.
so here's my grouping at 85 feet that target is about 12" in diameter. I'll let you be the judge here saying as though i don't have another rifle to compare it to. |

Im surprised it hit the target that far... You aim upwards?

seemed like a decent gun when I shot it... though so did that firepower xm8 i had many a year ago before it all fell apart and all the spring completely lost their springiness. Bet this is a pretty good gun, for the first time you use it. But it's a little expensive for a one time use disposable.

I used one of these for several months- it lasted a long time (gave it to a buddy who now uses it to this day), it had ranges and accuracy that was at par with a NIB TM Beta (we tested them side by side) and are not near as crap as people seem to think.
Still the faux metal is garbage, some parts are clear plastic that really dont need to be, and the mechbox and gears are plastic (though mine still fired at 300fps with.2s). Mine was only $124 when I got it though- for the $180CAD they sell for now I would rather a Kraken as well. Your review seems spot on to me- well done. Killer paintjob too The one here has been given a grass cam that looks sweet Last edited by MillerBRo; May 9th, 2009 at 14:10.. |

Inspected the gun again yesterday and I can confirm that it indeed has a plastic mechbox.

At least it seems like a standard V3, so I guess it could be replaced with a metal GB. Is it worth it, well, that's another question...
