It's time to work on the mechbox. Take it to a gun doc at this point or dive in yourself.

"is the nozzle moving back and forth when you fire?"
If you are referring to the nozzle on the front end of the mechbox, which meshes with the barrel, then yes, this piece moves forwards very quickly when the AEG is fired, and retracts right after. "It's time to work on the mechbox. Take it to a gun doc at this point or dive in yourself." Well, for all intensive purposes, I believe the mechbox is working properly. Air is comming out the end of the barrel when the trigger is pulled, and it is a substantial amount aswell. If air is comming out, then isnt the mechbox working? I really think it might just be the mags... Question about the mags actually, do I need to load the mags completely before I insert them? I guess what im asking is, does it make a difference if the mags are only half full? Cheers, John EDIT: Could it be that I need to oil the barrel? It seems that the BB's might just be feeding up into the hop-up chamber, but not getting thru the bottleneck in the barrel. Think this is called the air seal, which would make sense, considering the pressure would have to build up enough to push the BB through, and out the barrel. Maybe it's because this area isn't lubed that the BB's can't get through?

If the mechbox is working...and the hopup rubber does look good...and the mags appear to feed...but it's not shooting, then there's something else going on. Could be really straight forward, or not. A good gun doc will be able to eyeball it, swap parts in and out and check it over.
It'll be faster and a lot less headaches than trying everything that people can dream up and post on the internet. PS. it should shoot until there's only a couple of bbs left in the hopup (3-4) and there's no spring pressure left. Otherwise is should shoot every time. Best of luck, Tys |

Yeah, see, sometimes it shoots, but when it does, its maybe 1 out of 5 attempts... So im baffled as to whats going on. The rubber that im looking at is on the inside of the barrel, if im not mistaken, and what should I be looking for? It appears to just be a rubber bump, I don't really see any signs of wear...

I am sorry but do you know that hop-up is adjustable ? if not than just move the top sliding part of hop-up towards front sight ,and look in to the barrel if the rubber bump is gone ,your problem is gone too. If it's not the problem, then I recommend contacting person who you buy it from and ask what recent upgrades had he done on it . good luck .

Yeah, well the hop-up is closed because I was just experimenting with it, and left it like that to take the pics. I wanted to make sure you guys could see that is actually there. Ill try what you said, but so far, nothing seems to be working. Are there any gun docs in the montreal area that wont charge me my first born child? :P

One last thing, like you mentioned, is put a few drop of silicone oil in the feed tube while it's upside down and fire a few times, or fire a few bb's through it upside down. See if that does anything.

Yeah, I was talking with Donster 125 and he had mentioned the same thing. When I put the bb in the feed tube, and tilt the gun upside down, it still wont fire.... Silicone lube might be the answer tho. Where would I be able to find that? Possibly a local hardware store?

Try a local hobby store. They sell usually sell it as "RC shock oil" as in RC car shocks. Get the lowest weight you can, usually 10wt.

+1, and make sure it's safe with plastics.

Oh god.
I've potentially just made this problem a whole. lot. worse. I decided that I would be a stubborn idiot and attempt to open the mechbox. I unscrewed the screws holding it together then realized it was a stupid fucking idea. I rescrewed the mechbox together, without actually opening it up (I just unscrewed them then screwed them back in). I did however remove the lower portion of the mechbox... the motor..... yep, im facepalming myself right now. I put it back on, meshing the gear back in as well as i could. Then curiousity over came me, and I decided, hey, why not see if it works. To my horror, a screeching sound emits, and then nothing. Why do I have to be so dumb some times? Im guessing I sheared the teeth of the gears off.... anyone know how I can see if I did indeed "shoot myself in the foot" with this? Cheers. P.S: Fuck my life.

hahah uh oh! At this point you either need to devote some serious time to get to know your mechbox or look for a gun doc.
First you re gonna have to open the mechbox which can be shown at mechbox.com. Follow the dissasemly and reassembly carefully step by step. Look for wear or broken parts once opened up. Then tell us whats up from there.

Will do, just watched the mechbox disassembly/reassembly video off of mechbox.com. I think I can do this. Will get back to you soon.
