I got a UTG MP5 (A5). It already has a metal CA front end (SD) probably will get a metal upper receiver and drop in a systema box eventually. That will have to wait a bit as I picked up a TM M4 that I've dumped more money into upgrades.

As long as it's a clone, it'll upgrade.

been looking more, was directed to site with models availble in Canada.

I know the prices are jacked up and not as shown on site for us, but would

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...858a5d63ab7ed0

be a good starter gun?

Had that gun, it shoots hot.
If you can downgrade that spring, you're fine for CQB games.
If not, only good for outdoors.
It's pretty solid to me, but no battery storage. The battery foes into that foregrip. And I think that forgrip is ugly.

Depends how used it is.

You can find much better deals by getting verified and looking in the classified section

just wait till you get into it. When you first buy a gun, you'll think "oh wow, $350! I just spent alot of money!", next you will be wanting to upgrade your gun, and eventually, you'll most likely be dissapointed that someones G&P, TM, CA, nicely tuned gun will most likely always shoot better.

I started with a JG, upgraded it, I still hasn't happy with the performance. I hated the plastic body, the low ROF, and the range of the JG. I just sold it and bought a upgraded g&p m4. The difference in good and cheap brands makes a huge difference. I'd honestly say, if you can muster up the courage (and money) to spend a lot on a good name brand gun, just do it, and you'll be much MUCH more happier later on.

Just my 2 cents though.

I just kind of stumbled on it while discussing my frustration with getting started with my buddy. I said i need a gun and he said he had an Ak..It looks mint but without battery and charger i can't fire it obviously. So my next question is how much am i going to pay on top of the 250 for a battery and charger? I will definitely get verified (hopefully monday) but i just want to make sure i am getting my best value. Is this a good/great gun? I have done some research but couldn't find a great review and found none at all in these boards. Is there much better value out there? Should i offer less? Or just wait? I hope i am not crossing lines here. I appreciate the advice.

oops i was a bit slow in replying..Thanks alot guys i appreciate it..

Anyone can want a gun. Anyone can shoot a gun.

But does the gun meet your standards?

I guess that is the real question. It isn't the gun i really want i just thought it was a deal and it came at the right time. I don't really know what i should be looking for in a good AEG which is something i will figure out with time and experience. And everyone will be different..So thanks again guys i think i will wait for verification.

ANyone able to suggest a site for me then? I'll look for myself, but like I said, im new to most of this, I don't want to over-pay toooo toooo much.
Just to clarify and so you're not dissappointed. Even if the store says they'll ship to Canada, there is NO gurantee it'll make it into Canada as the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) will more than likely seize the gun. Having a gun seized and your name put on a to-watch-list is not cool.

The problem with buying guns internationally (From sources outside of Canada) is that it is illegal to import replica firearms. Unfortunately a lot if not all airsoft guns are very easily classified as replica firearms.
