I believe that's an Action brand AK-74 stock set. Is that an AK-74 compensator on it as well? Interesting combination, looks great for a good ol' Kraken :P

Yes it is the Action AK 74 wood kit. I just love the dark redish brown. I did not like the orange POS plug on the end of the Kraken so I used my ICS AK74m Flish hider due to the fact I have a TM Tracer unit on the AK 74M.

I used Rust-Oleum Mat Black fast drying spray paint. Put on about 5 light coats. I will later use some Krylon clear coat to make it last longer.

I got a wood kit for my Kraken of eBay as well. The seller of mine (and probably some of you guys) was ca_airsoft. My wood kit was like $56 CAD with shipping from Hong Kong.

You guys say its a good gun to work on if you want to start? Do you mean internals or in general I'm interested now my brother had one the gears stripper after less then 1k of rounds.

I don't believe that. I've dumped many thousands of rounds through mine, at long bursts. Unless you got a lemon, or you really abused it. Or messed with the internals.

These guns are nearly bomb proof. My first kraken is still going strong with more than 20k rounds through it. lube the gerabox once a year and you'll be good for ages.

Just went to Bass Pro Shop at Vaughn Mills today. They only had the clearsoft stuff available - no AK47s for me.

I don't really have a way to until the summer when I get to play again with my friends at Wasaga.

It's okay though, because by then I'll probably be ordering something dumber and more expensive like a FN FAL or something.
